Volunteer Description

BC Children’s Hospital Foundation is fortunate to be the charity partner for the Vancouver Whitecaps 50/50 program.  With the support of Vancouver Whitecaps FC gaming dollars, life-saving medical equipment will impact thousands of children from across the province. To support the Whitecaps 50/50 program, we are looking for volunteers to assist us with selling 50/50 tickets during Whitecaps home matches this season. Volunteers will be assigned a section on the concourse and stands to sell 50/50 tickets during the match up to the 60th minute.

Time Commitment

July 25th Volunteer Shift: 5:30pm – 8:30pm

The Whitecaps schedule can be seen here. You are able to sign up to volunteer for matches that work best for your schedule.

Each volunteer shift is approximately 4 hours, and we ask that volunteers arrive at BC Place 1.5 hours before kickoff for training and orientation.  At the end of the shift, volunteers will have the chance to watch the remainder of the match for free.

Skills, Experience and Position Requirements

Volunteers must be 19 years of age or older
Has a positive attitude and strong customer service experience
Previous experience with cash handling is an asset; comfortable handling a large volume of cash transactions
Able to work independently and with a team
Experience engaging and working with diverse groups of people

Additional Information

To sell 50/50 tickets, the volunteers will be assigned a section of guests to sell tickets to; this will require extended periods of walking and going up and down staircases in a busy environment.
