Opportunity Description:

The Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association (DVBIA) is seeking friendly and fun volunteers to assist in holding events during lunchtime in public plazas in downtown Vancouver.

The DVBIA supports, promotes and represents the shared interests of 7,000 businesses and property owners in the central 90-block area of Vancouver’s downtown core. Beyond business, a major focus for the organization is placemaking, which is the study of human behavior and how to create places for people. Our “Perch” program, created in 2013, provides Monday-Friday programming and opportunities for activations in downtown public spaces.

We are seeking volunteers who will be responsible for the set-up and tear down of programming Monday-Friday in the Perches. This will consist of transporting items to plazas, watching over activities to make sure they are not stolen, and to encourage people to participate.

The shifts will always start at 10:30am and end no later than 2:30 pm. Specific dates are semi-flexible but will always be Monday – Friday from May – September.
