Opportunity Description:

The Mood Disorders Society of Canada (MDSC) is looking for an organized self-starter to volunteer as an administrative research assistant with our ‘Improving Veterans Wellness’ (IVW) Program. 

As an administrative research assistant, you will be instrumental in helping us expand our new national program that provides support to Veterans and their family members by conducting online searches, extracting data, and communicating with potential program partners. 

We are looking for volunteers that can commit 3 hours a week for a minimum of 6 months. 
Duties:
The Research Administrative Assistant will be responsible for:

Conducting preliminary searches for organizational data to be used for program expansion
Collecting, analyzing, and documenting the data found in a spreadsheet for tracking purposes
Creating and distributing communication materials with organizations identified in the data searches
Making suggestions on process improvements
Assisting with administrative tasks including drafting meeting minutes, supporting the scheduling of meetings for senior team members, and recruiting new volunteers, as needed

 

Qualifications:

Must be a self-starter;
Excellent French oral written communication skills;
Computer and Internet skills (e.g. Google Sheets, Excel);
Excellent time management skills;
Ability to work in a team environment and independently;
Ability to volunteer for at least 6 months
