Opportunity Description:

CISV is a global non-profit organization dedicated to educating and empowering youth through peace education. Since 1951, we have been bringing delegations of youth ages 11-17 to international camps focused on peace education where they explore topics around Diversity, Sustainability, Conflict & Resolution, and Human Rights with youth from other countries around the world.

 

The Vancouver chapter of CISV is recruiting adult leaders to lead our summer 2023 international programs and staff members to organize an international camp being hosted in Vancouver this summer!

 

No experience required for leadership roles and all training is provided.

 

Minimum ages:

– 19+ for junior leaders (for local events or junior staff positions)

– 21+ for adult leaders for international programs

– Note: there is no maximum age!

 

Here are the 2023 programs we are recruiting leaders for:

VILLAGE (11 year olds) – Iceland; June 23 – July 21, 2023 (28 days)
VILLAGE (11 year olds) – Krakatau, Indonesia; July 1 – July 23, 2023 (23 days)
YOUTH MEETING (12/13 year olds) – Malmo-Lund, Sweden; June 29 – July 13, 2023 (2 weeks)
STEP UP (14 year olds) – Cincinnati, USA; June 16 – July 18, 2023 (3 weeks)
STEP UP (15 year olds) – Madrid, Spain; June 30 – July 22, 2023 (3 weeks)

 

In addition, we are looking for staff for our 14-year old STEP UP camp this summer!

CISV Vancouver is recruiting a group of staff members to plan and organize this camp which will welcome 14-year-old youth from around the world to Vancouver! This is a great opportunity to gain experience organizing an international camp as well as build a lot of the soft skills that come along with that, in addition to forming deep connections with other like-minded individuals!

 

The camp will be held between July 8-30, 2023. We are seeking a staffing committee of about 6 people which will be comprised of:

– Camp Director (ideally someone with experience staffing a large scale event)
– At least 3 adult staff (aged 21+ with at least one staff being 25+)
– Maximum of 2 junior staff members (aged 19+)
