West End Car Free Day 2018
Car Free Day celebrates the vibrancy of Vancouver’s diverse neighborhoods by organizing a multi-site annual arts and culture festival that reclaims traffic thoroughfares as community focused public spaces. This allows artists, local residents, performers, artisans, non-profits, and businesses to interact, engage, and re-imagine spaces normally reserved for vehicle traffic. We continue to be a green and grassroots effort, directed and organized by the local residents in each Car Free Day neighborhood. This year the 11th Annual West End Car Free Day will take place on June 16, 2018

Assistant Vendor Coordinator: 1 position

This is excellent experience for students with an interest in business and event management. You will enjoy working with a fun team, and be celebrated at our Volunteer Appreciation party!

Time Commitment: April 13th – June 18th, Work mostly on your own time from home 4-6 hours per week leading up to the festival. Ideally, you are available to attend weekly Core Team planning meetings held every Friday from 4-6pm in downtown Vancouver. You must be fully available on the day of the festival this June 16th.

Pre-Festival:

Assist the Vendor Coordinator with communications, organization, securing payment and issuing receipts to vendors for the 11th Annual West End Car Free Day.
Help to ensure compliance with West End Car Free Day Vendor Terms and Conditions
The day of the festival could prove to be somewhat physically challenging as you will help to coordinate vendors to their placements, distributing rental equipment from us and at times helping to set up their area.

Post-Festival:

Submit a final report.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be 19+ years
Excellent written and spoken English communication
Excellent interpersonal skills, enthusiastic demeanor, high level of professionalism
Proficient use of Microsoft Office software, Google Suite applications
