Are you looking for a way to have a positive impact on how companies support the community? Looking to develop your relationship building and negotiation skills? The Corporate Relations Coordinator is the role for you! You will work closely within the Corporate Relations team to reach out to businesses to develop meaningful ways through which to support the YWiB Vancouver chapter.

You: You are passionate about engaging with businesses and organizations within the community, and are not afraid to make the first move. You understand the importance of community partnership and enjoys communication and networking to contribute towards the bigger picture – supporting the development of leadership skills among young professionals in Vancouver!

The Role:

  • Collaborate, develop and execute sponsorship and in-kind donation strategy with the VP, Corporate Relations
  • Identify, connect and negotiate with community collaboration opportunities with local influencers
  • Coordinate and maintain partnerships with current YWiB sponsors
  • Monitor and evaluate progress towards sponsorship goals
  • Draft funding proposals and grants writing
  • Address inquiries from external stakeholders with professionalism
  • Contribute toward overall chapter support planning and execution
  • Coordinate and work closely with other portfolios as needed
  • Attend bi-weekly or monthly meetings, as required
  • Assist with drafting of invoices, formal contracts, proposal packages, and annual

    reports

Skills/Characteristics that we’re looking for:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to act as an ambassador of YWiB Vancouver in the community
  • Excellent organizational skills with great attention to details and a flexible “can-do”

    attitude

  • Ability to work independently, under pressure and as part of the team
  • Ideally have some grant writing or fundraising experience
  • High level of accountability and great time-management skills

This volunteer position requires a one-year commitment. The successful candidate must attend our team meetings (every 1st Monday of the month), support the successful execution of events and programs, work with our team for idea contribution, and complete independent work.
