Opportunity Description:

The Elizabeth Bagshaw Society is recruiting new members to join our Board of Directors. The board is a diverse group of women who share a commitment to choices for women who are pregnant and unfettered access to safe, legal abortion care services. If that sounds like you, please consider joining us!   Board members must be committed to the vision and mission of the society. We are looking for passionate pro-choice individuals and are particularly interested in the following special skills or areas of experience: Fundraising Human resources Medicine (for example, physician and nurse) Counselling   Please don’t discount yourself if you don’t fit within the categories listed above. We need people with a wide range of skills.   For more information or to express interest, please contact our Executive Director at director@ebwc.ca   A board member will: Be provided with orientation and any supported needed to become familiar with EBWC;s work; Be a member of the society; Participate in board meetings and an annual retreat, approximately six meetings per year; Be knowledgeable about and in agreement with the mission, vision and constitution/by-laws of the society and participate in shaping them, as needed; Keep confidential information confidential; Be a member of at least one committee, as needed; Contribute to fund development; and Assist the board in carrying out its fiduciary responsibilities.
