Access Pro Bono Society of BC (Event Planning Assistant)

Formed by the merger of two of British Columbia’s leading pro bono legal service providers, the Western Canada Society to Access Justice and Pro Bono Law of BC in 2010. Access Pro Bono is a non-profit organization that provides efficient and seamless pro bono legal services to the ever-increasing and otherwise unmet legal needs of BC’s people and non-profit organizations of limited means.

Access Pro Bono’s vision is of a justice system in which having limited means is not a barrier to obtaining quality legal services.

MISSION

Access Pro Bono’s mission is to promote access to justice in BC by providing and fostering quality pro bono legal services for people and non-profit organizations of limited means.

Access Pro Bono is looking for one or two students willing to volunteer their time to assist in the planning and implementation of Access Pro Bono’s annual fundraiser Pro Bono Going Public. This year will mark the 11hAnniversary of the event and we are looking to make it the most successful one yet. Responsibilities:

researching potential sponsorship opportunities;
compiling contacts for an invite list;
assisting with securing prize donations;
assisting with the event website upkeep and updates;
contacting local companies for product donations;
provide support to the Operations Coordinator;
attend events (local only) to assist in the execution and delivery;
participate in brainstorming new ideas and concepts; and
assist in other tasks as needed.

Must be willing to commit to at least one day a week starting the week of May 14 (flexible start date). Must be a self-motivated individual, with excellent administration and organizational skills. Must be proficient with Word and Excel.
