INSPIRE GIRL GREATNESS Are you looking for a meaningful way to make a difference in the lives of girls? Girl Guides of Canada- Kits-Fairview District is always looking for enthusiastic women (age 19+) to help lead our world class brand of girl programming. The most common way to get involved is as one of our unit Guiders. These are the leaders that plan, prepare, and execute our unit’s weekly meetings and special events. Units meet once per week for about an hour and half, plus occasional special events (including some overnight events like sleepovers and camps). Taking into account planning and other related tasks, a reasonable estimate of the time commitment is at least 2 hrs per week to about 10-15 hours per month. Our Units meet: Denman & Robson, Jervis & Davie, 6th & Collingwood, 25th & Oak, and 20th & Cambie, generally from 6:30 pm- 8:00 pm. We divide girls into branches as follows: Sparks (age 5-6), Brownies (7-8), Guides (9-11), Pathfinders (12-14) & Rangers (15-18) Right now, we are especially recruiting Guiders for the 2016-2017 year (January- June) in the following capacities: -Spark Leaders Wednesday Nights at 25th & Oak (1) -Guide Leaders Monday Nights at Cambie & 20th (2) -Guide Leaders Thursday Nights at Cambie & 20th (2) -Guide Leaders Tuesday Nights at Denman & Robson (1) -Guide Leaders Monday Nights at 6th & Collingwood (2) -Brownie Leaders Tuesday Nights at 6th & Collingwood (1) All adult members are required to complete a screening process including an informal interview, a police criminal records check and one mandatory training session.
