Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver (BBGV) (In-School Mentor)

• Appropriate for volunteers aged between 18 and 55
• Appropriate for volunteers aged 55 and over

Have fun, de-stress, and feel like a kid again while making a positive and local impact for youth!

The In-School Mentoring Program provides supportive one-to-one mentoring relationships to children and youth during their school day. Mentoring relationships build a connection through friendship and play-based activities. Each session is child-led, based on the mentee’s interests, and may include exploring the playground, cooking, arts & crafts or board games in our very own ‘Big & Little Activity Supply Bins.

In this program, matches are only in contact during the designated one hour/week of program time.

Our volunteers are of all genders and come from diverse backgrounds. We are looking for all adults 18+ to fill these volunteer positions.

Whenever possible, our organization provides activity ideas and free tickets and admission vouchers to Big and Little Brothers. As a volunteer, you can make a positive impact on the community, gain a sense of personal reward and fulfillment by contributing to a child’s self-esteem, develop a more positive attitude, which leads to greater productivity at work and makes a new friend.
