Opportunity Description:
JA British Columbia (JABC) is a not-for-profit impact organization that delivers free hands-on, immersive education in work readiness, financial health, and entrepreneurship. We achieve this through our suite of programs tailored to grades 4-12 that are delivered by real life volunteers, either online or in person.
We are currently recruiting volunteers for our Company Program: a 16-week course that allows students in grades 10-12 to learn about business and entrepreneurship.
Over the course of the program, students meet once weekly and learn how to run their own business, from idea generation to company liquidation. They use real money, real products and have real customers.
What makes these programs come alive are volunteers from the business community: real people with real examples of success AND struggle. These volunteers act as business mentors and follow our template (complete with hand outs and powerpoint templates) to lead and inspire students through this 16 week program.
Current Open Positions include:
  • In-person – Victoria, BC – Starting December
  • In-person – South Vancouver – Starting ASAP
  • In-person – Dunbar – Starting November
  • Online/Virtual led
