Have some spare time? Want to make a real difference? Health and Home Care Society of BC’s Meals on Wheels Program delivers more than 400 hot meals to isolated individuals every day. Our volunteers deliver to seniors, caregivers and those with health conditions or recovering from surgery. In addition to a hot meal, volunteers provide a friendly chat and an informal safety check on our clients. Our volunteers are often the only person visiting each day. This invaluable service has been delivered in Vancouver for over 40 years and relies on volunteer involvement. You can volunteer in your own area or somewhere different and be a part of a city wide team each day! Two hours once per week is all it takes. All meals are delivered between 11am and 1pm Monday to Friday. We provide orientation, support and mileage reimbursement and will work around how much time you have to give. We would love you to join our team and help us to provide meals and care with a smile! No car? No problem! We also have partnerships with Zipcar and Modo.
