Indian Summer Arts Society (ISAS) is a Vancouver-based not-for-profit secular arts organization founded in 2011. We are dedicated to promoting, showcasing and building public awareness of artists of South Asian origin in the performing, visual, literary, culinary, and folk arts and fostering dialogue between Canada and South Asia, and within communities in Canada.

Summary:

This summer delve into a world of art, music, films, dance, food, and much more with Indian Summer Festival!

Indian Summer Festival is back with its ninth edition, featuring Grammy-winning musicians, Oscar-nominated filmmakers, Indigenous designers, Booker prize nominated novelists, and many other inter-disciplinary artists.  We are now recruiting volunteers for the 2019 Indian Summer festival season! Time commitment for volunteers is a minimum of 12 hours during the festival (July 4-14) in addition to mandatory attendance at one training session.

PAUSE is Indian Summer Festival’s outdoor programming hub, a unique architectural installation conceptualized to bring people together with an innovative use of public space. Against a spectacular view of the North Shore mountains and downtown Vancouver, PAUSE is situated at the site of the village of sən̓aʔqʷ (pronounced Senakw), currently known as Vanier Park. The PAUSE Pavilion features free events daily throughout Indian Summer Festival, including all-star performances, talks and dialogues, food, workshops, and visual art, featuring a wide range of local and international artists. PAUSE programming emphasizes collaborations and conversations between South Asian and Indigenous artists.
