Parkinson SuperWalk is the single most important awareness and fundraising event for Parkinson Society BC and its national partner, Parkinson Canada. Since 1990, SuperWalk has provided a platform for increasing awareness of the needs of those affected by Parkinson’s disease. Funds raised support PSBC’s programs, support services, advocacy efforts, and contributions to research.
Volunteer Positions – Vancouver
We need SuperWalk volunteers on Sunday, September 11, 2022. Vancouver’s SuperWalk will be taking place in Ceperley Playground at Stanley Park. Volunteers are needed for the following positions:
Banking Table Supervisor: 7:45 am – 12:45 pm
Banking Table: 7:45 am – 12:45 pm
Course Marshall: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm
Face Painter: 8:15 am – 12:30 pm
Food Table: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
Form Table: 8:15 am – 12:15 pm
Greeter (End of the Line – Individual Registration): 7:45 am – 10:45 am
Greeter (End of the Line – Team Registration): 7:45 am – 10:45 am
Greeter (Exit): 7:45 am – 10:45 am
Greeter (Front of the Line Registration Control): 7:45 am – 10:45 am
Greeter (General): 7:45 am – 10:45 am
Memory & Honor Wall: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm
Parking Attendant: 7:00 am – 10:00 am
Photo Assistant: 8:15 am – 12:15 pm
Raffle Prize Table: 8:30 am – 12:30 pm
Registration Attendant: 7:45 am – 12:45 pm
Timer Table: 8:15 am – 12:15 pm
Volunteer Table: 7:00 am – 11:00 am
Qualifications
Outgoing personality with good interpersonal skills and the ability to commit for the morning.
Please note that all Registration volunteers must attend a virtual training session on August 30 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. The session link will be sent to volunteers via email.
Benefits & Recognition
Volunteers will get the opportunity to develop a variety of skills by participating in a large-scale event. Confirmation letters for volunteer hours worked will also be available upon request.
Number of Volunteers Required: 60
Time Commitment: 3-5 hours total (depending on the position)
