Opportunity Description:

Are you looking to increase your volunteer experiences and enhance your resume?   Surrey Crime Prevention Society (SCPS) is actively recruiting volunteers to support our Community Safety Volunteer Tour Program. This program operates in Downtown Surrey, Fleetwood, Guildford, Newton and include our new expansions into Cloverdale | Clayton Heights and South Surrey. SCPS is a not-for-profit organization that works closely with our community partners to enhance community safety in the City of Surrey. Community Safety Volunteers participate in foot or bike tours, observing and reporting suspicious activities. Volunteers are issued equipment such as bicycles, two-way radios and reflective visibility jackets. Volunteers are expected to commit for a minimum of one 2 hour shift per week. You will enhance the following skills:   Observation & reporting skills Communication skills Leadership through Team Lead positions Enhancing resumes with valuable volunteer experience Networking with community partners and peers Supporting your portfolio with training opportunities and credible references We are offering volunteers the opportunity to develop their work experience in the community while enhancing their resumes. We have nearly 300 dedicated volunteers, many of which are interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement. Through SCSP, volunteers gain valuable experiences they can apply to their career development.
