Company Overview:
Indian Summer Arts Society (ISAS) is a Vancouver-based not-for-profit secular arts organization founded in 2011. We are dedicated to promoting, showcasing, and building public awareness of artists of South Asian origin in the performing, visual, literary, and folk arts and fostering dialogue between Canada and South Asia, and within communities in Canada.
Summary:
Each year, the festival presents provocative arts events that highlight the absolute best artists and visionaries from Canada, South Asia, and beyond. From novelists to musicians, installation artists to filmmakers, Indian Summer Festival presents a vast roster of 90% local artists each year, ranging from emerging to globally renowned. Indian Summer Festival is coming back with its 13th edition this year. We are now recruiting volunteers for the 2023 Indian Summer festival season! The time commitment for volunteers is a minimum of 6 hours during the festival (July 6-16) in addition to mandatory attendance at one training session.
Benefits:
By being a part of the festival, you will be furnished with a chance to meet distinguished artists and connect with individuals hailing from diverse backgrounds, and develop leadership, management, interpersonal and communication skills. Moreover, you will be able to take part in multi-disciplinary events that encourage progressive discussions which will empower you to implement a positive influence in our community. In addition, you will be invited to an Appreciation Party with all festival volunteers. If you complete at least 8 hours of volunteering and perform incredible work, you can request a reference letter.
