Opportunity Description:

Greater Van Gogos is looking for a volunteer website manager. https://greatervangogos.org

Anticipated time commitment varies greatly through the year – from a half hour per week during winter and summer to an hour or so per week during September to November and March to May. This year the management around a new website theme will require an initial outlay of about 15 hours. Some training in management of the GVG website will be provided. Familiarity with the work of the Grandmothers Campaign of the Stephen Lewis Foundation is an asset.  The   Campaign is a dynamic movement of thousands of grandmothers and grandothers, belonging to grandmothers groups across Canada. The Campaign is a Canadian grassroots response to the challenges faced by African grandmothers as they struggle to care for millions of children orphaned by AIDS.

General website tasks

Update website content including regional meeting minutes, resource files and newsletter
Carry out and track WordPress and plugin updates
Troubleshoot problems
Liaise with the GVG’s technology contact re problems, solutions, annual website review
Take direction from the GVG Communications Team on content
Liaise with website provider, renew services
Liaise with and provide website technical info to GVG Communications Team and the GVG Regional Team
Monitor website backups on Google Drive

Manage website’s event email address Workspace (GoDaddy email system)

Photos

Post and manage photos on website pages as directed by the GVG Communications Team
