The Bicycle Valet is a social enterprise run by the non-profit charitable organization, Better Environmentally Sound Transportation (BEST). Our goal is to eliminate barriers to sustainable transportation, in this case by providing a safe place for people to keep their bicycles (and bicycle accessories).

This summer we’re partnering with the Vancouver Police Department and Project 529 at Granville Island to try out a new project, attacking bike theft from as many different angles as possible. We’ll have our valet open 7 days/week, be educating the public on best locking practices, registering bikes with Project 529, collecting data on current locking practices, as well as conducting a survey looking at transportation choices made by all people traveling to Granville Island.

I interviewed my dad on video in his final weeks.
