The Festival of What Works

November 15-22, 2020

Salmon Nation’s Festival of What Works is a week-long, online celebration of community-led approaches to living well in place. The twin challenges of climate change and the COVID-19 pandemic have accelerated the re-localization of economic and cultural life. Join us as leaders in community share practical, replicable ideas from individuals or organizations that are contributing to community health in myriad ways: education, economic development, social activism, health, healing, food production, median making, the arts and environmentalism. Panelists include: Wade Davis, Portugal. The Man, Chief Na’moks, Annita McPhee, Ryan McMahon, Harold R. Johnson, Gerry Oleman, Eden Robinson, Gisele Martin, Don Svanvik and Napaġiak Dalee Sambo Dorough, to name a but few. FREE to attend.

You nourish your soul by fulfilling your destiny, by developing the potential that the soul represents. When you fulfill your soul’s destiny, you will feel “right.” Conversely, when you ignore your soul’s destiny, when you get caught up in your own self-interests and forget to care for others, you will not feel “right.” Instead, you will feel empty and unfulfilled. During these times, you are neglecting your soul–you are depriving it of nourishment. When I talk to people who feel this emptiness and lack of fulfillment, I recommend they find a source of balance in their lives. I suggest they find a way to “give back” to the world in order to feel a sense of completeness.
