The Roll-A-Hippo Foundation

Every day, millions of women and children in developing countries are forced to carry heavy loads of water for long distances to their homes, typically in heavy 20L (kg) containers balanced on their head.

By raising funds to purchase Hippo Water Rollers, The Roll-A-Hippo Foundation aims to alleviate the daily struggle endured by women and children by helping them improve their ability to transport water, more easily and in less time from water points that are often located far from their homes.

On average, a woman spends six hours a day collecting and transporting water to supply her family’s daily needs. The time spent on this basic necessity keeps many children out of school and prevents women from engaging in more empowering activities and income-generating work.
