Each Director is also asked to participate meaningfully in at least one Board committee, contribute actively to strategic planning and budgetary planning processes, and serve as a community ambassador for BEST Mobility, promoting the Society's mission, values, and programs in all relevant professional and public settings.Directors should expect to commit a minimum of three to five hours per month to Board duties, including meeting attendance, pre-meeting preparation, committee participation, and community representation. Writing a letter can change a life! Join other volunteers in our email and postal fundraising campaign that will find new sponsors for financially poor youth in western Kenya, allowing them to attend high school and graduate. (The secondary school year begins in January in Kenya and is completed in three years.) Work from your computer at home, with flexible hours. Any postage expenses can be reimbursed. Organization Summary:Vancouver Food Runners is a registered Canadian charity working at the intersection of food waste, food access, and environmental sustainability. Since launching in 2019, we have built one of the largest volunteer-powered food recovery networks in Metro Vancouver.Using our app-based platform, we connect surplus food from local businesses with nonprofit organizations serving communities across the region. Every day, volunteers use the Vancouver Food Runners app to transport fresh surplus food from donors to community partners including food banks, neighbourhood houses, shelters, and community organizations.Our volunteers, known as Food Rescue Heroes, are at the heart of this work.
