Music Outreach Society is a youth non-profit organization that organizes high school student to perform in music concerts in seniors home, hospitals, shelters and other places in their community to give back to their communities with their talents for music. On a completely volunteer basis, young musicians are given the chance to share their passion for music in their community at a number of seniors’ homes including Louis Brier Home and Hospital, Southview Terrace, BC Children’s hospital – Sunny Hill and the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre. Performances range from pianists, singing & guitar. We do both performance and interactive singalongs.
Our Goals
To bring the community together through the act of sharing music with others. As we all know, music is a language that everybody understands! MOS is also a place for musicians to network with each other and to build long lasting connections as well as friendships.
To raise money to help support music therapy and children who are unable to afford instruments/lessons.
To provide MOS performers and members with performing opportunities as well as the chance to build up confidence in their music performance.
Vancouver Fashion Week is recruiting volunteers for the upcoming season that will be held at the Chinese Cultural Center of Greater Vancouver from September 19-25, 2016. With the addition of the Vancouver Kids Fashion Show, this season is going to be like nothing you have seen before!

Lean In Canada is a community of professional women empowering each other to build purposeful and fulfilling careers. Since 2013, we have grown from an audience of 20 people to over 2000 members in various professions. We built our organization for people just like us: professional women who are passionate about driving their careers forward to the next level and beyond, and who want to achieve greater success not only in work, but in life as a whole.
Meeting monthly, we focus on hot career topics with actionable information and inspiring stories, and provide networking opportunities with like-minded people. We recognize that women face unique challenges in their professional lives, and seek to bring women together to learn from and champion each other in a positive, enriching environment. Together, we can be stronger.
Diwali Fest originated in 2004 as the Vancouver Celebrates Diwali Festival, and has since evolved to become one of the largest Diwali- themed events in the Lower Mainland. What started as a one-day, volunteer-driven event has evolved to the point where we are a professionally-staffed festival that has become a destination event on the City’s cultural calendar. Throughout our history we have striven to balance several core competencies: showcasing the best and brightest South Asian talent, exhibiting artistic innovation through a myriad of forms, and engaging our wide community in as active and inclusive a role as possible.
We're a non-profit society serving approximately 350 riding and non-riding members of all ages and interests. We are also "home" to groups that cater to youth, riders with special needs, polo players, and recreational trail riders. The Club encourages volunteer participation, and welcomes visitors at our many public events.
Every year we host the Southlands Country Fair, which opens our unique neighbourhood to the rest of the city and invites everyone to "enjoy a day in the country without leaving the city"
'Better at Home' is a program that helps seniors with simple day-to-day tasks so that they can continue to live independently in their own homes and remain connected to their communities. The Government of British Columbia funds the program, United Way of the Lower Mainland manages it, and local non-profit organizations provide the services.
The Young & The Restless Clothing Exchange on Broadway is a NEW Organization supporting a community outreach program dedicated to empowering young people (ages 12-25). The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) is a national community-driven charity. As the largest charitable funder of breast cancer research in Canada, CBCF’s vision is to create a future without breast cancer. Since its inception in 1986, the Foundation has invested over $360 million in breast cancer research, funding more than 1,400 scientific and community grants. CBCF’s investments in vital research, education, health promotion, support and information programs have led to progress in breast cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care.

The Eastside Culture Crawl is an annual 4-day visual arts festival in November that involves artists on Vancouver's Eastside opening their studio to the public. The event is focused on the area bounded by Columbia St, 1st Ave, Victoria Drive, and the Waterfront and involves painters, jewelers, sculptors, furniture makers, weavers, potters, printmakers, photographers, glassblowers; from emerging artists to those internationally established.
The Eastside Culture Crawl officially began in 1997 with 45 visual artists in 3 Strathcona area studio buildings and was attended by a few hundred people. Since that time the event has grown to include over 400 artists, craftspeople and designers attracting an audience of more than 25,000. The organization itself has evolved to represent the heart of the East Van creative community.
This year marks our 20th Anniversary!
InspireHealth Supportive Cancer Care Centre is a non-profit with centres in Vancouver, Victoria and Kelowna BC. We provide free programs and services for anyone with a cancer diagnosis and their support friends and family. Our Clinical Services are provided by a team of physicians, nutritionists, clinical counsellors and exercise therapists. We have experience providing guidance on healthful diet changes, stress reduction and emotional counseling, decision making, exercise, and personal coaching.
