Established in 1989, Coastal Research, Education, and Advocacy Network empowers vulnerable low-income and racialized youth through research, education, and advocacy. Our community-based research informs our services, with the intention of deepening connections and improving the lives of youth, families, and their communities. We work closely with residents and community leaders in British Columbia and Ontario to advocate, both locally and nationally, on behalf of youth to make our province a better place to live. ImmUnity Canada is a not-for-profit charitable organization that provides a community for people and families impacted by primary immunodeficiency. We advocate for education, research, and support for PI patients. Together, we can give all Canadians with PI access to the resources they need to thrive. ImmUnity Canada was founded in 1997 as the Canadian Immunodeficiency Patient Organization. We changed our name in 2022 to better reflect the work we do today!

Soap for Hope Canada provides access to essential hygiene products to improve the health, hope, and dignity of vulnerable people, from children to seniors, low-income families, refugees, Indigenous Communities, homeless people, and people in Evacuation Centers for fires and floods. The organization primarily works with the hotel industry, collecting and repurposing gently used hygiene products, linens, and lost & found, that would otherwise end up in landfills. Soap for Hope Canada processes and distributes them to Community Facilities serving those in need. Since 2015, Soap for Hope Canada has distributed nearly 10 million hygiene products and linens, diverting almost 1 million pounds from the landfill.

About youth biis S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Youth Business Innovative Idea Startups (Youth BiiS) Program is an initiative funded by the Government of Canada through the Canada-BC Job Fund to empower eligible young adults between 18 and 29 in their process for self-employment / business startup in Metro Vancouver. Youth are screened into the Youth BiiS Program based on their ability to meet the eligibility criteria and the viability of their business. Our goal As one of the leading social service providers and with years of experience in entrepreneurial skills training in British Columbia, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Youth BiiS strives to support highly motivated young adults with interest and aptitude for business to obtain the skills and training required to be successful in self-employment / entrepreneurship. Youth BiiS takes advantage of experienced business coaches and emphasizes on a need-based approach in the programming. The program flexibility and on-going participant intake ensure that participants focus their time and energy on activities that support them to achieve their career goals.

POSITIVE LIVING BC is dedicated to empowering persons living with HIV/AIDS through mutual support and collective action. We are a Registered Non-profit Society (#11928-2085) and an established leader in the HIV/AIDS movement. Uniquely among major agencies in Canada, the POSITIVE LIVING BC Board of Directors is composed entirely of HIV-positive members. With a membership of more than 5,400 HIV-positive members and a proud history spanning three decades, we are Western Canada's largest AIDS service organization and an established leader in the HIV/AIDS movement. We rely on funding, donations from the wider community in order to provide our range of services and events, and to produce a variety of resources and publications.

Situated in the heart of Vancouver’s historic Chinatown, Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden is a site of cultural heritage, learning, and reflection. Modeled after Ming Dynasty private scholar’s gardens in the city of Suzhou, China, it was the first authentic full-scale Chinese garden built outside of China (upon its completion in April 1986). Stunning architecture, winding paths and corridors, blooming plants and serene jade water ponds transport our visitors back to an ancient time and place.

CircusWest Performing Arts Society presents CircusFest 2014 from November 6th-9th in some of Vancouver’s most reputable venues including The Cultch, PNE Garden Auditorium, Wise Hall and Sideshow Studios. CircusFest celebrates the incredible talent and skill of circus artists and performers from across the Pacific Northwest. The festival will bring the Circus Community together over 4 spectacular days of performance, discussion, installation and more. CircusFest is the first of its kind in Vancouver and we need dedicated volunteers like you to help it be the best of its kind! Participation in the festival gives volunteers the chance to hone their skills, establish friendships, engage with Circus Arts and network within the community. The NSN strives to fulfill its vision by fostering social engagement and personal growth of youth. Our approach is multifaceted and includes the following: - To offer a comprehensive database of scholarships, volunteering and leadership work, and opportunities in the sciences, humanities, and business. - To empower youth through mentorship unique to their individual interests and needs - To provide an interactive and supportive community for youth to share thoughts, offer advice and engage in discussions.

ONE TO ONE is a unique children’s literacy program that provides one-to- one tutoring to elementary school students who struggle with reading. Our trained volunteers work with students in schools during school hours. These students are identified by their teachers as needing a boost in their literacy skills. The program is aimed at the grey-area students, those who do not receive any other resource support directly from the schools (i.e. no designated learning issues) but are not yet reading at grade level and often receive little or no literacy support at home. ONE TO ONE provides these children with an opportunity to practice their reading in an environment where it is okay to take risks, make mistakes, and learn at their own pace. It is our goal to bring these students up to reading at their appropriate grade level, providing them an opportunity for academic success and hope for a brighter future.
