The Richmond Museum aims to inspire curiosity about our community’s history while exploring our place in the world. We invite visitors, students and educators to come on a journey of discovery with us. As museum storytellers, collectors and educators, our goal is to create moments of wonder and understanding. Our exhibitions tell the many stories of Richmond; our collections show how we live, past and present; our education programs open minds, young and old; and our work translates into action for a healthy community and planet. The Richmond Museum collects, documents, researches, preserves, exhibits and interprets objects of historical and cultural significance to the development and history of Richmond.   The Richmond Regional Heritage Fair is an annual two-day event presented by the Richmond Museum. It not only showcases history projects created by Richmond students but also offers unique, enriching activities that inspire a deeper appreciation for and curiosity about Canada's past. Each year, over 100 Richmond students present Heritage Fair projects on topics that draw from family and local Richmond stories to regional, provincial and national history. Over 6000 students take part in Heritage Fairs across BC and thousands more across Canada.
Formed in 2013, The Presidents Group (PG) is a network of business leaders in B.C. who are focused on increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities and creating a more accessible consumer marketplace. As part of their work, they look to: o Improve human resource practices within businesses by identifying innovative workforce strategies that support all employees and enhance productivity. o Identify barriers and solutions for businesses when hiring persons with disabilities. o Create opportunities for the Province, in partnership with B.C. businesses, to improve supports for employers in order to support the hiring of people with disabilities.

VOLUNTEER JOB POSTING Position: Marketing & Promotion Organization Mission Statement The ME|FM Society of BC is a charity, run by patients, carers and their families, formed to help and support patients with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) and/or Fibromyalgia (FM). Our society works to help ME and FM patients in British Columbia improve their health and quality of life by providing information about these illnesses, and guidance on how to seek and obtain support, appropriate medical help and treatments. Position Description The ME|FM Society of BC is seeking a volunteer to assist us with our social media presence and contributions to the online community. This role is ideal for someone looking to break into the Marketing and Social Media scene, have an impact in healthcare, and give back to a vulnerable population facing multiple barriers. We are looking for a creative and social media savvy individual to coordinate the Society’s online activities. Your aim will be to implement a cutting edge social media strategy that raises awareness of Society work, and coordinate the regular management and content creation for the Society’s social media platforms (predominantly Facebook and Website, but we are open to others). The ME|FM Marketing volunteer will: - Provide information about services and supports for ME or FM patients on our online platforms - Promote donation drives annually - Provide basic education about the illness and resources for the online community - Create & update a cutting edge social media strategy - Implement bold, new ideas to raise awareness of the Society’s work - Maintain a focus on innovative approaches in social media engagement. This position is ongoing, with no set start or end date, and most of the work can be done remotely. We are looking for a team member who wants to stay and grow with us long term. Established in 1978, Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver’s (BBGV) mission is to support child and youth development through Volunteer-led mentoring programs. Our vision is to put a mentor in the life of every child and youth who needs one. We provide various mentoring programs for children who require extra support and friendship. Having a caring role model has shown to lead to endless positive outcomes for children, because when children are emotionally, socially, and physically healthy, everyone in the community benefits. BBGV serves over 1000 children annually throughout the Lower Mainland and Sea-to-Sky Corridor. Most of the children are from low-income single-mother households, or families who are facing multiple barriers and a lack of positive role models for the child. BBGV strives to ensure that children from all backgrounds have access to our programs.
