Children’s Autism Federation of B.C. (CAFBC) was founded as a grassroots organization to hold the government accountable for policy decisions surrounding individual autism funding in British Columbia (B.C.). As we continue to navigate through the political and ethical issues surrounding any shift in a service delivery model, the Children’s Autism Federation of B.C. remains focused on ensuring that all autistic children and their families have their voices amplified and their needs understood. CAFBC will continue to hold the government accountable for any change that will negatively impact children in the autism community and continue to bring awareness to these issues. WHAT WE DO Children's Autism Federation of BC has focused on advocacy and support for a service delivery model that truly encompasses the needs of all autistic children. We are non-profit organization that receives no government funding. The primary focus being the importance of retaining individual funding and timely diagnosis. CAFBC also supports families throughout their pre to post-diagnosis journey. We have provided recommendations to the Government on a framework for children and youth with support needs. Most recently, CAFBC launched our Research and Support Division. This enables families to find resources and support within a one-stop-shop delivery model. Families may access support for the application of autism funding, advocacy-related resources or even autism-related recommendations.

Coast Mental Health has been helping people recover from mental illness since 1972. We operate 54 locations throughout Greater Vancouver and provide services to over 5,000 individuals annually. Coast Mental Health’s care is based on three pillars: - Housing: We take a “housing first” approach. Coast Mental Health connects people living with chronic mental illness or addictions with secure housing as an essential part of their recovery. Today, we provide a continuum of residential care services to almost 1,500 people at 54 sites throughout the lower mainland. - Support services: Through our support services, we help clients build on their strengths, access existing government and community resources, manage their health, and live richer lives. - Employment/education: Our employment and educational programs boost self-confidence, add meaning to client’s lives, and improve financial independence.

Hello! Hope you're doing well. I'm Aparna Mody. I work at The Salvation Army (Northshore Ministry) as a Kettle Coordinator. As you may know, the Christmas Kettle Campaign is our largest fundraising drive of the year. With more than 2,000 kettle locations across Canada, the kettle not only raises critical funds but also boosts the Army's visibility and promotes awareness about the causes we support. To continue to make the campaign a success, we rely heavily on kind-hearted and compassionate volunteers who would be willing to give a few hours of their day to be a: - Kettle Host - Driver/Supervisor Should you come across any of your members who'd be interested in participating, please have them reach out to me or they could walk up to our office to have a quick chat too. The Salvation Army's Christmas Kettle campaign will be up and running from the 14th of November until the 23rd of December from Mon-Sat (10-6 p.m.) at multiple locations around the North Shore. The Mount Pleasant Community Policing Centre (MPCPC) is a volunteer-driven non-profit governed by a community-based board. The MPCPC promotes crime prevention and safety in partnership with residents, community agencies and the Vancouver Police Department. Additionally, by acting as a liaison between the Vancouver Police Department and community agencies the MPCPC works to create a safe and inclusive neighborhood while supporting the community's most vulnerable. The MPCPC engages the community in volunteer-driven programs and other community-based services. Building on that, the MPCPC operates a warm and welcoming storefront to connect residents with those CPC programs and other community-based services.

The Open Air Orchestra Society has supported community music in Vancouver since the mid-2000s. Originally formed to support the Carnival Band, the Society has also established the Greenhorn Community Music Project, a free music program for youth in Vancouver, as well as HONK! BC, a festival that showcases street bands from all over the world! We strive to build partnerships with Vancouver’s rich resource of professionally trained musicians to conduct public workshops in creative performance. We focus on culturally diverse and locally composed musical performance, with the vision of fostering community spirit, empowerment, creativity, and skill.

The British Columbia Regiment Band Society operates the British Columbia Regiment Band, an all-volunteer community concert and marching band representing the British Columbia Regiment. Along with performing at regimental events, we perform at many community events throughout the Lower Mainland and beyond!

Science World is a mission-based, charitable organization that supports the development of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Design and Math) literacy across British Columbia. Karate BC, the recognized Provincial Sport Organization (PSO) for Karate in British Columbia, is dedicated to supporting the development of karate and fulfilling the aspirations of our members. Our mission is to connect with and inspire seniors through the power of live music. This helps strengthen their sense of belonging in the communities where they live. We are serving senior homes, long-term care, and assisted living facilities across Metro Vancouver area.

HONG KONG HOUSE CULTURAL SOCIETY or HK House, is a volunteer-led and run community organisation. Our team is made up of a diverse set of people with vastly different stories. First and second generation immigrants, recent newcomers and locals of different backgrounds work together to curate and maintain a society with strong values. Established in 2020, HK House was born out of a need for a safe gathering place for the steadily growing Hong Konger diaspora community in Vancouver. Since inception, HK House has curated regular programming, including seasonal hikes, community clean-ups, game nights, film screenings, a free mental health support series offered in English and Cantonese, as well as the Vancouver Hong Kong Fair. We offer educational resources and cultural promotion using our social media, ensuring all offerings are translated to English and Cantonese.

The GWCPC The Grandview-Woodland Community Policing Centre is dedicated to providing crime prevention assistance and education to the Commercial Drive corridor and surrounding area. ​Members of the community are encouraged, through education and engagement in volunteering with the GWCPC, to become active participants in increasing safety awareness and decreasing opportunities for crime to occur.
