We are Jit Jots, a passion project founded by UBC undergraduate science students. Our organization’s goal is to spread our love for science through hosting fun and engaging in-person workshops for community centre youth programs. These workshops are designed to inspire a passion for science in youth through experiment demonstrations by our team, hands-on activities, and activity sheets.
Currently, we are hoping to recruit Grade 9-12 students to join our volunteer team. After relaunching from a hiatus due to COVID-19, we are in need of enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to help with the creation and design of workshops, as well as presenting the workshops to youth. Any Grade 9-12 student who is excited about science is encouraged to sign up for our volunteer team! Please feel free to check out our social media and website!
The Yard Garden Harvest Program (YGHP) grows food in five of our neighbours' yards to provide local, community-grown produce to Little Mountain Neighbourhood House's Food Distribution Program. The YGHP is rooted in deepening connections by engaging with landowners and volunteers while growing food in a way that benefits the soil, the pollinators, and our community!
PD Avengers is a global community of individuals dedicated to ending Parkinson's disease. It was co-founded by passionate advocates who are committed to raising awareness, advocating for research funding, and ultimately finding a cure for Parkinson's. PD Avengers aims to empower people affected by Parkinson's, whether they are patients, caregivers, or supporters, to become advocates for change. Through various initiatives, campaigns, and collaborations, PD Avengers works to mobilize the Parkinson's community and influence policymakers, researchers, and healthcare professionals to prioritize finding a cure and improving the lives of those living with the disease. It's a collective effort to bring about positive change and accelerate progress towards ending Parkinson's once and for all.
The Improv Centre is Vancouver’s leading and best known improv theatre company. It was originally formed in 1981 under the name The Vancouver TheatreSports League. It was founded to promote, develop, maintain and present improvisational theatre productions and presentations to local and visiting audiences in Vancouver. The Improv Centre office and 186 seat theatre are located on Vancouver’s Granville Island. Each year, over 60,000 audience members, artists and students enjoy our theatre’s productions.
Books For Me aims to promote a love of reading and improved literacy by providing elementary school children with the opportunity to choose books to keep and build their personal library. We run monthly programs in elementary schools and community centres in Vancouver and support book drives to collect gently used books for our program. Â We are a 100% volunteer run charity and to date have given away over 100,000 books.
#SaveHastings is a non-profit charity that focuses on supporting the homeless population of Hastings street. We have a market connection which supplies us food. Throughout the year we plan to donate this food by handing them out along Hastings Street on a monthly basis. We also curate and distribute packages called "Hastings Hope Kits" which contain essential toiletries and items to the homeless population of Hastings St., Vancouver!
Our mission at The Youth Tutoring Project is simple: to help every child reach their full potential and achieve their dreams through engaging, fun, and interactive tutoring sessions. We believe that every child deserves access to quality educational support, no matter where they come from. The Youth Tutoring Project addresses the academic struggles of lower-income grade 1-8 students. Unlike other affordable services, YTP combines tutoring with students' passions, fostering enthusiasm for learning and innovation.
Crime Stoppers is a non-profit society and registered charity that receives anonymous tip information about criminal activity and provides it to investigators in communities. Tip information is provided to a wide variety of provincial, federal and international investigative agencies.

Members of the public may witness all or part of a crime without being aware of the importance or value of what they have seen. As a result, they may unknowingly possess key information that could assist police in solving the crime or taking a criminal off the street.

Crime Stoppers can be extremely beneficial as we are the middle relationship to ensure anonymity while at the same time passing tip information forward. Our program provides an effective opportunity for anyone to help law enforcement solve crime without worry of reprisal. Crime Stoppers serves as a chance for anyone to relay criminal information to police and absolutely remain anonymous.

The Labyrinth is found next door to St. Paul’s Anglican Church in the St Paul's Parish Hall complex (1140 Jervis Street) and is a full 13-metre replica of the medieval labyrinth laid in the stone floor of the 13th-century Cathédrale de Notre-Dame de Chartres, south of Paris, France. Our labyrinth was opened in 1996. For many, it is a way of centering themselves or of seeking insight during times of transition in their lives.
The labyrinth is a spiritual form that is open to people of all faiths and spiritual disciplines as a resource for meditation, reflection, and prayer. Unlike a maze, labyrinths have only one path that leads into the centre and back out again. Often we have slips of paper and pens to write down your thoughts, meditations or prayers. There are also chairs and cushions for still forms of meditation and centering.
The Dance Centre is the leading resource centre for dance in British Columbia, supporting the development of the art of dance through a range of activities that is unparalleled in Canada. We provide resources and programs for dance professionals; present public performances and events; bring dance to the community through outreach programs; operate Scotiabank Dance Centre, our creative hub in downtown Vancouver; and promote BC dance.

St. Augustine's Anglican Church operates a number of community initiatives including; Second Hand Rows - our community thrift store, as well as our Food Ministry which hosts a weekly food hub program for groceries and a weekly community meal.
