Since 1938, the BC Psychological Association (BCPA) has represented psychologists in British Columbia. It is a voluntary body and is committed to advancing psychology and the psychological well-being of all British Columbians. Our administrative offices are in Vancouver, BC.
Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre Society (VAFCS) is a non profit charitable organization serving the needs of the urban Aboriginal community. VAFCS's mandate is to provide programs and services in health and welfare, social services, human rights, culture, education, recreation and equality for all genders of Aboriginal People of all age groups. VAFCS's hosts, partners and supports many community events throughout the year with Annual Events such as: Family Day, Aboriginal Day, Kids Back to School Back Pack Program, Elders 1 day Bazaar, VAFCS 2 day Craft Fair, Kids Christmas. VAFCS also seeks volunteers to assist with daily activities for the youth, family and elders programs.
Since its inception in 1897, YWCA Metro Vancouver has worked tirelessly to achieve women's equality.
Today, the YWCA is one of Metro Vancouver's largest and most diversified non-profit organizations. Our holistic, intergrated programs and services help lift women and families out of poverty, provide the best start for children and create new opportunities for education, employment and leadership.

The ConnecTra Society provides outreach services primarily for mobility and physically impaired individuals in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. It serves as a connecting agency, linking people with physical disabilities to activities and programs that will, over time, allow them to grow, gain confidence and become increasingly more active and involved in community life.
Reel Causes Society is a volunteer-run BC registered non-profit that creates positive social change by combining the power of film with the power of community action. We host social film screenings that bring people together, connecting them with professional independent filmmakers and Canadian non-profits working to address health, environmental and social justice-related issues. Since 2010 we’ve highlighted and supported the work of almost 60 independent filmmakers and as many Canadian organizations doing great work locally and abroad, and have connected thousands of film-goers with these community change-makers.
The Gastown Business Improvement Society, a not-for-profit association, promotes the shared interests of commercial property owners and businesses located within the neighbourhood boundaries, supporting the area’s growth and development, while making a positive impact on the community.
Western Canada Chinese Sports Association is a B.C. registered non-profit association initially formed by a group of local born Chinese and Chinese immigrants. The common thread that ties our board of directors is the importance and role of sports that play in their lives, from childhood to now.
The mandate of WCCSA is to promote friendship and healthy lifestyle for all age group in Greater Vancouver through sports activities. WCCSA will constantly organize different kinds of sports activities & events to provide a fun and safe networking environment to our members and the public. We also hope to organize more national and international sports event in Greater Vancouver in the near future.
TO DEVELOP, encourage and promote business in the Chinatown Business Improvement Area;
TO MAKE studies of, and advance any project, plan, or improvement designed to benefit the Chinatown Business Improvement Area;
TO COOPERATE with and aid any person, body, group, or association in projects designed to benefit the Chinatown Improvement;
TO RAISE revenue to carry out the purposes of the Society;
TO PROMOTE matters of common concern and interest to businesses and property owners in the Chinatown Business Improvement Area, and to bring together businesses and property owners in the Chinatown Business Improvement Area for fulfilling the purposes of the Society.

A non-profit organization first established in Victoria BC 1996, Opened office in Vancouver on Howe Street in 2014. Hepcbc primarily deals with Hepatitis C through Education and Prevention run by persons who are living and those who survived through Hepatitis C and Health Care professionals. We do this through fun events, distribution of current pamphlets and documentaries.
Papergirl YVR is an inclusive, non-commercial art project that brings people together in the celebration of art and community in an unconventional way: through the spirit of altruism.
In this annual project (entering its 6th year!), artists of all ages and abilities are invited to donate their work to a non-juried exhibition. Afterward, the artwork is rolled into bundles and distributed by a team of cyclists (in the style of the American paperboy) to anyone they meet along specific bike routes in the Lower Mainland.
Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (& Tell) on Earth!
Part science fair, part county fair, and part something-entirely-new, Maker Faires are family-friendly showcases of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness that bring together tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, food artisans, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. Makers come to show their creations and share their learnings. Attendees flock to Maker Faires to glimpse the future and find the inspiration to become Makers themselves.
The first Maker Faire was held by Make magazine organizers in April 2006, in San Mateo, California to "celebrate arts, crafts, engineering, science projects and the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) mindset". Since then, the Maker Movement has gone international, and many smaller independently-organized events (Mini Maker Faires) have been established. Vancouver Mini Maker Faire is one such event, and has been a yearly Maker celebration since 2011.
