VIVO Media Arts Centre (aka Video In Studios / Video Out Distribution) was incorporated in 1973 as the Satellite Video Exchange Society. It operated the first video exchange library, and was one of the earliest international video centres and Canadian artist-run centres. Its founding mandate was to facilitate international information exchange through a public video library. By the early 1980’s the organization evolved to provide access to video equipment, basic workshops, international distribution services, and published print material. In August 2014 we moved to our current location at 2625 Kaslo Street. VIVO’s mission is to directly support artists and independent community-based producers to develop, exchange, and disseminate their skills in a supportive environment through accessible services and programs.

Visionary 21 is a non-profit organization founded by Harrison Lee and Alex Lee in April, 2014 because of their realization that Down syndrome is a pressing issue in society that isn't dealt with adequately. Comprised of teenagers stationed in Vancouver, BC, we are growing everyday. Everything we have raised has been and will be processed and distributed quickly through partner organizations who currently have more influence than us. Nevertheless, it will not be long until we get to the point where we want to be: having our own influence over whom we strive to help and support. Visionary 21 chose to help those with Down syndrome in particular because it not only affects an individual's intelligence, but also presents a grim hazard on health. As human beings, we wanted to become contributors of the world and act early in our adolescence to truly experience reality. Most importantly, our team empathizes for those with Down syndrome. By helping us reach our goal, you are indirectly assisting individuals with Down syndrome acquire privileges. As mentioned, all of our proceedings will go to research and assistant, thus opening many paths in helping and understanding those with Down syndrome. Help them reach for the stars! Our current objective is to spread the word and also to increase in size. We need as many contributors and volunteers as possible to strengthen our objective. Furthermore, we have toiled in the community with fundraisers and we have also physically helped those with Down syndrome. One of our ultimate goals would be to raise enough money to rent out an office space and, in the future, to start a company that employs individuals with and without Down syndrome. We would love to provide work opportunities. Therefore, we ask for your utmost support, to motivate us to continue on our project!

We provide early intervention therapy services to children under 6, key worker programme, social skills development programme, brain injury programme, and a supported child development programme for children who attend childcare or preschool.

Since 2000, Leave Out Violence (LOVE) Society BC has been delivering award winning youth-driven media arts-based violence prevention and intervention programming to youth who face multiple barriers. LOVE youth use media arts to document their experiences and share their views of the world, and build leadership skills to break the cycle of violence in their lives and communities.

ConnecTra Society helps people with physical disabilities connect with work, leisure and social opportunities throughout Metro Vancouver. It is one of the affiliated societies of the Vancouver-based Sam Sullivan Disability Foundation.

Fair Trade Vancouver is a non-profit organization that seeks to increase awareness, availability, and sales of Fair Trade products in Metro Vancouver. We are located inside the Lonsdale Quay Market (ground floor, north end), just a few steps away from the SeaBus terminal. We offer free information, reservations and accommodations services.

Lonsdale Quay Market is located on the North Shore by the Seabus. It is an iconic landmark for North Vancouver and a cornerstone for the community. The Market hosts quite a few community events that are free to attend.

VOLUNTEER MENTORS ARE NEEDED! ConnecTra Society has a new research program, Employment Mentorship Support Project, in partnership with University of British Columbia’s Department of Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science. ConnecTra is seeking volunteer mentors to support individuals with physical disabilities in pursuit of employment, training, education, volunteering, recreation and increased social involvement. Typical support includes researching community resources, job searches, and registration of participants at their local Work BC Employment Services Centre. Volunteer Mentors will need to have previous employment experience, clear a criminal record check for vulnerable adults, and commit to volunteering over an eight-month period. The attendance of a day-long volunteer orientation is required: Saturday, March, 26, 2016 10- 4pm at Creekside Community Centre, 1 Athletes Way, Multi-Purpose Room # 4, Vancouver, BC V5Y 0B1. The nearest skytrain stations are Main Street Science World (Expo Millennium Line) and Olympic Village (Canada Line). The Elizabeth Bagshaw Women’s Clinic (EBWC) is committed to providing reproductive and abortion care in a safe, confidential and calm atmosphere. EBWC has been offering high quality abortion care services in Metro Vancouver for more than twenty-five years. Other services offered include: contraception management, pap tests and sexually transmitted infections testing. We want every woman to leave feeling their choices have been respected and that they have received excellent care. The Elizabeth Bagshaw Society is a registered charity and non-profit that operates EBWC, an accredited medical facility by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC. The Society is run by a volunteer Board of Directors, which is elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
