The Professional BC Wedding Awards is the longest running wedding industry Awards program in Canada. We are an independent, unbiased and dedicated to finding and awarding the best of British Columbia's dynamic and creative wedding industry. These awards recognize some of the amazing creative talent, companies and individuals that make up British Columbia's wedding professionals.

The Mount Pleasant BIA (Business Improvement Area) is a non-profit community based organization that focuses on improving and growing the neighbourhood in a healthy economic, cultural and sustainable way. We are the second oldest of the 22 BIA's in the City of Vancouver, who represent the major commercial areas of the City. Operated under the auspices of the City of Vancouver, we represent approximately 400 businesses in the Main Street area as well as about 120 property owners. Our mandate is to create and enhanced business environment through marketing and promotions, special events such as street festivals, street beautification, working with local organizations and groups and addressing specific concerns of our membership such as fair commercial taxes.

History The Greater Vancouver Food Bank was set up as a temporary relief to the hunger crisis in 1983 and has grown significantly in the four decades since then. Today the GVFB sees over 800,000 visits from clients annually across Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster and the North Shore. Who We Support 52% of the food distributed by the GVFB goes to individuals in four locations across our catchment area: Vancouver (57%), Burnaby (25%), New Westminster (9%), and the North Shore (8%). Of these clients 31% are children and 15% are seniors. The remaining 48% of the food distributed goes to our network of Agency Partners. These partners use GVFB food to fuel their food programs, including small community food banks, daily snack and meal programs for shelters and community housing, school nutrition programs, and more.

For 20 years, Breakfast Club of Canada has been nourishing children’s potential by making sure as many of them as possible have access to a healthy morning meal before school, in an environment that allows their self-esteem to grow and flourish. But the Club is much more than a breakfast program: we take a broader approach that promotes the core values of engagement, enrichment and empowerment, and we team up with communities and local partners to develop solutions adapted to their specific needs. Operating from coast to coast, the Breakfast Club of Canada helps feed 167 271 students every day in 1,455 schools.

International Society for Krishna Consciousnes also recognized by many as Hare Krishna Movement is a non profit organization founded by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada with the objective of spreading Krishna Consciousness around the world. ISKCON’s main purpose is propagation of spiritual knowledge and culture, as presented in timeless teachings of Bhagavad-Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam, to the society at large with an aim of establishing more peaceful and spiritual living.

Vancouver Fashion Week is recruiting volunteers for the upcoming season that will be held at the Chinese Cultural Center of Greater Vancouver from September 19-25, 2016. The BC Artisan Marketing Society (BCAMS) has undertaken the establishment of a fund that will provide scholarships to deserving emerging artisans so they may continue their post graduate education and training. The fund is in its infancy, but will grow rapidly through public donations and sponsorships that the BCAMS will seek at the artisan market events it produces throughout the year. Once the fund reaches a sustainable level, scholarship amounts will be announced by the BCAMS directors and application criteria will be posted and invitations to apply distributed throughout the artisan community. A panel of accomplished artisans will make the final selection of the winner, chosen from among successful applicants.

Established in 1910, Girl Guides of Canada has added over 7 million Canadian girls and women to the Guiding family. Today, Guiding's innovative programming is helping the next generation of Canadian girls become confident, courageous and resourceful leaders.

Project Oaks is a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the stigma of mental illness through sharing personal stories. We currently operate in Edmonton, Saskatoon, and Vancouver. As a whole, Project Oaks seeks to reduce social isolation, increase accessibility to mental health care, and prevent suicide through stigma reduction.

Celebrate with us as a volunteer for the Canada 150 Parade in downtown Vancouver!  Presented by the Port of Vancouver, this year’s parade is on SUNDAY, JULY 2ND, 2017 as part of a two-day Canada 150 celebration at Canada Place. Canada Day celebrates our nation, our people, our cultures and our values. If you’re a person who loves the thrill and excitement of a great public event, and thrives in a large team environment, the Canada 150 Parade is for you! Over 200,000 spectators will be entertained by 60 festive floats, marching bands, dance troupes, and community groups while being supported by over 150 volunteers.
