Special Olympics BC is dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities through sport.  Through the power and joy of sports, comes the ability to discover new strengths and abilities, skills and success.  Special Olympics athletes find confidence, and fulfillment - on the playing field and in life.  They inspire people in their communities and elsewhere to open their hearts to a wider world of human talents and potential. We provide our athletes with opportunities to train and compete in high quality year-round sport programs and competitions - local, provincial, national and international.  Athletes gain more than just physical benefits from improved health and athletic abilities, they develop social skills and friendships while experiencing the joy of achieving goals and increasing their self esteem.
KidSport™ is a community-based sport-funding program established in 1993 by Sport BC. KidSport™ provides grants for children ages 18 and under to participate in a sport season of their choice. There are 40 community chapters in BC and over 165 chapters across Canada. British Columbia Rugby Union, commonly known as BC Rugby, is the recognised governing body for Rugby union in the province of British Columbia. We are a Not-For-Profit organisation and one of 60 Provincial Sport Organisations (PSOs) to receive funding from the Provincial Government. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we welcomed over 8,000 individuals to the game and registered 61 community rugby clubs across British Columbia.
Incorporated as a non-profit society in 1935, the Hastings Community Association (HCA) works in partnership with the Vancouver Park Board to provide recreation, social, educational and cultural opportunities in the Hastings-Sunrise area. The HCA provides subsidies for low-income users and emergency financial support to community programs. Through its activities and committees, the Association ensures that the community is represented at the Centre, Templeton Park Pool and in local planning & development issues.
