The mission of the Karina LeBlanc foundation is to empower young girls and women to meet their fullest leadership potential, on and off the field.  The foundation promotes and instills leadership values through its leadership program and awards scholarships to individuals who require financial support in order to further their education.

We are a small but mighty team, made up of individuals who come from lived experience of Executive or Senior level leadership. Each of us had been impacted by workplace challenges, pressures, or toxic culture, all of which eventually led us through waves of burnout and health challenges. Having to face the outcomes of burnout, we were forced to weather the storm however that looked for each of us. As a collective, we have come together to find a way to advocate for new leaders and develop a system of support for nonprofit organizations, associations, small businesses, and start-up initiatives. We aim to grow our membership, made up of seasoned leaders, to be able to share knowledge, create a space for support and think tanks, as well as collectively create ways to advocate for Pink Elephant workplace issues. At S.H.E., we bring compassion, empathy, and humility into our work. Always leaning on our learnings, and creating avenues for open conversations and continual growth. We strive to keep our minds curious, learn from each other, and bring attention and care to the work we do for you and your team. We are a Fractional Executive Support, made by and for leaders like yourself. We are here to fill the gaps in your organization or start-up, where resources may be limited, meeting our mission to reduce executive burnout by providing services that will bring back a sense of work-life balance. We aim to reduce workloads, strengthen organizational systems, strengthen boards and board processes, and talk about the impacts of executive burnout not on just the individual, but also on the team, organization, and the community as a whole. We advocate for change, support workplace policy by driving awareness, and speak to Pink Elephant topics that are often avoided. Welcome to S.H.E. On September 15th, 2024, hundreds of thousands of people across Canada will lace up to participate in the annual Terry Fox Run to raise funds for cancer research. Now in its 44nd year, the event continues to stay true to its roots with a non-competitive, grassroots and family-oriented spirit, with communities all over Canada joining together to realize Terry Fox’s vision of a world without cancer.

The NSN strives to fulfill its vision by fostering social engagement and personal growth of youth. Our approach is multifaceted and includes the following: - To offer a comprehensive database of scholarships, volunteering and leadership work, and opportunities in the sciences, humanities, and business. - To empower youth through mentorship unique to their individual interests and needs - To provide an interactive and supportive community for youth to share thoughts, offer advice and engage in discussions.

ONE TO ONE is a unique children’s literacy program that provides one-to- one tutoring to elementary school students who struggle with reading. Our trained volunteers work with students in schools during school hours. These students are identified by their teachers as needing a boost in their literacy skills. The program is aimed at the grey-area students, those who do not receive any other resource support directly from the schools (i.e. no designated learning issues) but are not yet reading at grade level and often receive little or no literacy support at home. ONE TO ONE provides these children with an opportunity to practice their reading in an environment where it is okay to take risks, make mistakes, and learn at their own pace. It is our goal to bring these students up to reading at their appropriate grade level, providing them an opportunity for academic success and hope for a brighter future.

The Writers’ Exchange makes literacy exciting and accessible for inner-city kids through free mentoring and creative writing projects. Our vision is that every child will have the literacy skills necessary to access a world where anything is possible. The Writers' Exchange runs free literacy programs for at-risk kids in inner-city schools. As a volunteer literacy mentor, you help with reading, creative writing projects, literacy games and cool crafts, or support a small group of kids during in-school book-making programs. We have programs that run both during the school year and the summer months. Help us make literacy fun and accessible for kids!

We are a University of British Columbia (UBC) AMS Club dedicated to promoting the joys of music and providing quality music education to children in a fun environment by focusing on improvisation. We run free after-school music programs at Queen Alexandra Elementary School, and we are looking for volunteer violin teachers.

The Discovery Centre is a not-for-profit organization in connecting communities in discovery and celebration of the living, working Fraser River. We are a public elementary school in Vancouver with a Parent Advisory Committee planning a Gala Fundraiser for a new Outdoor Greenscaping Project.

Learning Buddies Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping struggling young children at inner-city elementary schools to develop essential literacy and math skills. Our goal is to improve self-esteem and ignite a passion for learning!

DCECEC Society is a non- profit organization dedicated to providing childcare services for children of Students, Staff and Faculty of Douglas College as well as Community Families. We operate two licensed childcare facilities, one at each Douglas College Campus; New Westminster Campus in New Westminster and the David Lam Campus in Coquitlam. The Society consists of approximately 55 members and employs 1 General Manager and 8 Early Childhood Educators. The Society is governed by its Constitution and Bylaws as well as its License agreements with the Fraser Health Authority. The Society operates with a volunteer Board of Directors consisting of a total of 7 parent and community members, 1 Early Childhood Education Faculty Member and 1 General Manager (non-voting).

The Sustainability Office was established to support the work of the Senior Sustainability Council in the development of SFU's Sustainability Strategic Plan, to support and facilitate the University-wide effort to implement the plan, to maintain programs already established, and to develop new programs to support University-wide sustainability initiatives. The Sustainability Office provides institutional support and coordination for departments, units, groups and individuals to advance sustainability initiatives at and beyond SFU and is the central hub for sustainability innovation at SFU.
