YELL Canada is a registered charity that inspires entrepreneurial thinking and invests in young minds, preparing them for a radically different future. We partner with educators and business leaders to deliver real-world programming in high school classrooms, creating powerful problem solvers to build our future economies. YELL builds the connections between youth and local leaders, helping youth see a possible future for themselves at home, while equipping them with the tools and the support network to make it happen. YELL's programming targets high school students aged 15-18 (grades 10-12). Our flagship program is a year-long accredited entrepreneurship and innovation high school course. It involves a teacher led and mentor supported fully accredited course (students receive school credit), that runs from Sept-June.  

The C.O.D.E. Initiative is a not-for-profit organization founded to Create Opportunities and Define Education. Our mission is to accentuate the abilities of youth on the autism spectrum. By providing a 1:1 teacher-to-student ratio, we hope to introduce them to the basics of computer programming through a learning experience tailored to their needs.

The Learnary offers short, affordable classes in all sorts of interesting things you’ve always wondered how to do. We are also a resource for alternative education and maker materials, and a place to connect with others who like to learn and make together. We are dedicated to building community, supporting intergenerational learning and celebrating curiosity.

Plastic Oceans Foundation Canada, a Federally Incorporated NFP, and Canadian Registered Charity, is a Plastic Awareness Coalition, utilizing the power of film and other media to educate Canadians to “rethink plastic” and inspire behavioral change. Working in collaboration with like-minded organisations across Canada we are combining efforts to solve a global problem through local action. We aim to educate Canadians to become plastic literate, so they can make informed decisions about how and when they accept plastic and challenge society’s perception that this indestructible substance can be treated as ‘disposable’. We must solve the problem within a generation. Our Charitable Purposes: To promote the conservation and protection of the natural aquatic environment in Canada (and the world) for the benefit of the public by educating the public on the dangers of plastic waste by: producing and distributing educational films, videos, documents, and other informative materials and resources; and presenting lectures, workshops, seminars and group discussions. To carry out activities ancillary and incidental to the above charitable purposes

The C.O.D.E. Initiative is a non-profit organization with the goal to support the personal, educational, and career development of children on the Autism Spectrum through teaching them the fundamentals of computer programming. We put a heavy emphasis on providing a one-to-one student-to-teacher ratio to provide undivided support for our students.   We are currently looking for volunteers to join our team! RoboPlanet is a non-profit organization that has registered with BC government. Based in Richmond, British Columbia, RoboPlanet aims at building a global Robo community, in which there is no limit to imagination and every participant could share their ideas freely on robot assembling and programming. RoboPlanet wishes that every child, who is appealed to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), could have the opportunities to discover, experience, learn, and share their interests through the robotics journey; RoboPlanet believes that every child could be an innovator and a leader.

BCEdAccess Society is an entirely volunteer-run organization serving families of students with disabilities and complex learners all over the province of British Columbia. Our parent support group has over 1600 members and stories shared on our private discussion board daily illustrate the depth of the challenges families face in pursuing equitable access to education in BC schools. Our History: BCEdAccess began when a small group of parents gathered together in a Facebook group around the end of 2014. Tracy Humphreys set up this group because although she was able to find many great organizations of parents working together to support specific disabilities, there was none that gathered all of the parents together to discuss the issues that all of these groups have in common in trying to access education for their children. The group was fortunate to have some very strong and long-term parent advocates join as founding members, setting the tone and direction of the organization that has continued to today. What we do: On November 21, 2018, seeing that the need for this group is ongoing, we incorporated the BCEdAccess Society. Our Constitution and Purpose states: “We champion and support children and youth who have disabilities and who are complex learners to reach their full potential in BC education, and in all aspects of their lives. This is achieved through supporting families, sharing information, providing education to families, allies, professionals and students, providing community engagement and awareness, and other activities to promote equitable access to education and inclusion for all.”

Seeks to increase student interest and involvement in STEM by engaging them in hands-on. Enhance the ability of Robotics by learning together. We set a Junior Robotics Competition every year, and help G-K12 school to setup their robotics club.

We’re a free literacy tutoring program backed by a mission to help children develop lifelong literacy skills. ONE TO ONE’s program is free to all parents and schools and is available to any elementary school student whose teacher believes they need a reading-skills boost. Each student meets two to four times a week with a ONE TO ONE volunteer tutor. For 30 minutes at a time, they read in an environment where it is okay to take risks, make mistakes, and learn at their own pace.

As a result of globalization and educational research, the “image of a child” has changed from that of an empty vessel or thirsty sponge to that of a “competent and unique individual” bringing her own strengths and learning competencies to the table. This in turn has brought about a shift from theories of learning that support the top-down transfer of select information to theories that support the co-construction of knowledge in the classroom and beyond. We believe literature is the best conduit with which to construct such knowledge. This shift is reflected in the philosophical base of all programs offered at the Lyceum. At the Lyceum we choose to concentrate on the perceptual dimension of learning in an effort to challenge binary thinking and encourage exploration of “possibilities.” Nurturing a lens through which to view personal, local, and global interactions helps children develop guiding principles when approaching problematic situations inherent in a diverse society.

Our program is called BLUSH: Bold Learning for Understanding Sexual Health, run by Vancouver Coastal Health. Our team of Youth Educators (age 17-23) deliver workshops on Sexual Health, Healthy Relationships, and Media Literacy to high school students across Vancouver and Richmond.

Learning is a lifelong journey with challenges and difficulties, during which we grow and gain confidence. In the GRIT learning hub, we provide professional, passionate academic support in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics). Our educational support ranges from Grade 1 through Grade 12 in an encouraging and highly supportive environment. We also incorporate the GRIT spirit in our education method, utilizing passion and perseverance to educate students to achieve their long-term success throughout their lives. Our curriculum encourages students to take thoughtful risks, engage in experimental learning, problem-solve, and embrace teamwork for inspirational support. Our focus and devotion to education prepare students for the confidence and abilities to meet and exceed any educational challenges.
