Join the 2022 School Helpers Tutoring Team! School Helpers is a non-profit, student-run tutoring organization, with students and tutors across Canada. Formed in 2020 by a high school student, School Helpers aims to support families and students during the challenging time of COVID-19. All tutors are volunteer high school/undergraduate university students (ages 13-22), and all tutoring occurs online.
School Helpers tutors are subject to the responsibility of conducting/organizing online tutoring sessions and catering their lessons in such a way that best suits the learning style of their student(s). Tutors must be able to help their student(s) in at least one of the following subjects: English, Social Studies, Math, Science, or French. Any additional subjects that are not previously mentioned are also encouraged (please specify this in the application). Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as previous volunteer or leadership experience(s), are preferable. Please contact infoschoolhelpers@gmail.com if you have any questions!

ClimateScience aims to empower people to make real long-term solutions to climate change actionable through climate education. We hope our way of covering solutions makes people excited to contribute to clean energy, sustainable agriculture, and other global-scale sustainability issues – beyond reusing their plastic bags. We believe education is the most powerful tool in the fight against climate change.
This is an initiative started during Covid Pandemic to help teach Punjabi to people of all ages. We have been remotely teaching Punjabi to students all around the world. Our volunteers are fluent in both Punjabi and English. Since Punjabi Schools and Traditional methods of learning Punjabi were challenged during the lockdown, we have created a system that allows you to take full benefit of learning Punjabi and getting your volunteer hours based on your availability and flexibility in your schedule.

DASH is a province-wide non-profit society whose mission is to collaborate with schools and other partner organizations to create, facilitate, and support school communities to be optimal places for health and learning through a Comprehensive School Health approach. Comprehensive School Health is an internationally recognized framework for supporting improvements in students’ educational outcomes while addressing school health in a planned, integrated, and holistic way. DASH has developed and facilitated health promotion programs and resources for over 30 years.
Connaught Heights Elementary School (K-5) is having a Spring Carnival on Friday June 3, from 5-8pm.
We are looking for volunteers for this very exciting event.
We require help for the hours of 4-8:30pm for multiple stations such as games, concession and ticket sales.
Anyone interested in volunteering can sign up for hourly slots or can work the whole event.
The NWSS marching band is doing a 15 minute performance at this event as well!

DC Coding Association is a non-profit organization located in BC, Canada that offers free coding related courses to children. We want to help those who really want to learn how to code but they may have financial difficulties.
Our goals are to:
- To offer free or affordable high-quality coding classes to children and youths who really want to learn coding but their family has financial difficulties.
- To allow more children and youths to have the chance to learn coding.
- To give a place for more children and youths who love coding to collaborate and communicate together.
- To make underserved communities better by providing this service and to remove barriers for those who want to learn and enter the coding industry.
The Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre (VHEC) is seeking qualified and enthusiastic individuals to join our dedicated team of docents – volunteers who share a passion for human rights and social justice, through Holocaust-based anti-racism education. Volunteering as a docent is a wonderful opportunity to share your dedication to the pursuit of a more just world, supporting programs the aim to empower students and the general public to become upstanders against antisemitism and other forms of racism.
About the VHEC
The VHEC is devoted to Holocaust-based anti-racism education and commemoration, reaching more than 25,000 students each year. The Centre produces thematic exhibitions as well as holds Western Canada's largest collection of Holocaust-related artefacts, testimonies and archival documents. The VHEC offers educational programs and supports educators through professional development, and access to resources, school programs and events. The VHEC also presents commemorative programs, book launches, film screenings, public programs and conferences for teachers. The VHEC’s teaching philosophy emphasizes an interactive approach, encouraging exchanges between docents and students/visitors, through exhibition tours, as well as educational workshops in schools and virtual platforms. TES Theatre Company exists to offer young people safe, inclusive, and supportive programs in which to flex their creativity and realize their authentic visions for theatrical production. We are absolutely unique in that we give participants the reins to envision, plan, produce, direct, craft, and of course perform, in their own theatrical works. The achievements are wholly their own. Based on democratic principles of education, in which young people are afforded value, respect, and latitude, and in which young people are fully welcomed to be themselves, TES Theatre Company takes emerging artists seriously. We are an offspring of TES (Transforming Education Society), and we continue to support young people to define and pursue their own voice, inspiration, and creative passion.
Project Empathic seeks to bridge the gap between elementary school students and unhoused people through card-making, detailing homelessness and creating a sense of community.
We aim to elevate the voices of unhoused people by teaching the students why card-making and further actions are important through educational workshops so society may develop empathy and unlearn the stigma of homelessness.
Our mission is to empower individuals who face work and social barriers to cultivate community connections through entrepreneurship and self-advocacy opportunities.
The mission of the Down Syndrome Resource Foundation is to support people living with Down syndrome and their families with individualized and leading-edge educational programs, health services, information resources, and rich social connections so each person can flourish in their own right.
