At SACIF, we envision a world where children have the opportunity to learn and to reach their potential. We are an independent, secular foundation founded and operating in Canada since 2019. Our main focus is to help them get a proper education as a means to reach their maximum potential. When it comes to helping out, we do not consider any discrimination such as race, gender, or the country they live in. We help them without any boundaries. However, getting a proper education is not possible without peace of mind about one’s other vital needs. The need for food, clothing and housing is also as equally (if not more) important as education. We are surely aware of those needs and extend our support to address those needs as well. This will definitely play a significant role in children’s education and leads to more sustainable growth for them.
Kitsilano Neighbourhood House (‘Kits House’), member of the Association of Neighbourhood Houses BC, is a registered non-profit, charity organization dedicated to providing an opportunity for everybody in our community to get together and be engaged. We offer many different programs like volunteer-led English Conversation Circles, weekly hot lunches for seniors, childcare and much more. We are currently the only Neighbourhood House on the Westside and serves many different communities like Kitsilano, Dunbar, Arbutus Ridge and Point Grey.
Kits House has a rich history on Vancouver’s Westside since 1894 when it was originally opened as Alexandra Orphanage and Non-Sectarian Home Society. This original site was located at 7th and Pine. The orphanage was eventually renamed “Alexandra House” in 1938. In 1972, the House moved to its current location, was renamed Kitsilano Neighbourhood House and still serves the six communities of the Westside.
We are looking for a 3 month volunteer to help create social media campaigns. There is a potential that this role would become paid after 3 months.

The Westside Seniors Hub brings together local seniors and 17 Partner organizations
serving seniors to ensure that Westside neighbourhoods are places where seniors can
thrive. It serves as a ‘hub’ for sharing information and promoting collective action. It
provides leadership for identifying gaps in service delivery and generating community
support for seniors’ issues.

Mount Pleasant Community Centre is jointly operated by the Mount Pleasant Community Centre Association (MPCCA) and the Vancouver Park Board. The MPCCA's mission is to encourage, promote and support the educational, cultural, social and physical well-being of the people of the Mount Pleasant community.
Founded in 1969, the Society Promoting Environmental Conservation (SPEC) is a non-profit charitable organization that provides practical solutions for urban sustainability. Areas of work include local food security, zero waste, renewable energy and climate action. Farm-to-Plate Marketplace is one of the many food security initiatives that SPEC supports.
Farm-to-Plate is a virtual marketplace that provides consumers of all income levels with direct access to fresh, local produce through online ordering and weekly pick-ups. It is designed to directly connect farmers and community members in a way that is manageable for both parties. The program started in November 2020 at Little Mountain Neighbourhood House and has now expanded to include Jewish Family Services, each of whom run a virtual farmer’s marketplace. As many people are food insecure the program uses a pay-what-you-can model with a subsidy option so that locally grown food can be accessible to all income levels.
Ruby Slippers Theatre’s vision is a world where diversity is celebrated through a deeper understanding of each other. To bring this vision to reality, RST illuminates under-represented perspectives and inspires independent critical thought by giving voice to diverse, female-identifying artists and by premiering significant Québec works in English translation on the West Coast.
Employ to Empower (ETE) supports residents in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES) community by providing access to development and entrepreneurial resources. Our resources include affordable microloans and business mentorship, with the goal of having a long-term impact on our members’ personal and economic well-being. We also actively advocate for creating positive social change in the DTES.
The Vancouver Asian Heritage Month Society is a registered secular non-profit organization with year-round programming in the arts and culture scene. Our mission is to foster, promote and celebrate the arts and cultural diversity that Asian-Canadian communities bring to Canadian society.
Since 1996, VAHMS has worked closely with local Asian-Canadian communities and organizations that support our vision of becoming the main hub for celebrating Asian-Canadian arts and culture in the Metro-Vancouver area. Our signature project is explorASIAN, a Metro-Vancouver festival showcasing pan-Asian Canadian arts and culture during Asian Heritage Month in May. This year (2021) is the 25th anniversary of both VAHMS and explorASIAN.

The Pathways to Education program takes a holistic approach to address the challenges students face. There are four components to the Pathways to Education program, which are tutoring, mentoring, immediate financial supports, and one-on-one support. We look to support each student broadly through the 4 supports and at the same time, shift the way we work with each student based on their individual needs. We support students with challenges they face individually, at school, and in the community by working together with the families, the schools, and other community-based organizations.
