Since 2017, we have provided coding and STEM workshops to neurodiverse children (youth who identify with being on the Autism Spectrum or having ADD/ADHD, GAD, or any other exceptionality) and underrepresented youth across Canada. Our mission is to cultivate inclusive and supportive environments for children to learn, explore and empower themselves in.

The Marpole Community Food Hub is open every Thursday to address the food insecurity in our community. We receive food donations from the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and The Salvation Army every Wednesday, which we bag up and distribute on Thursday mornings. Our immediate need is for volunteers on Wednesday morning to unload help sort the deliveries. We follow current Covid protocols with masking, hand-sanitizing and gloves. We request that our volunteers are up to date with their Covid Vaccinations as we work with vulnerable members of the public.
DASH strives to encourage all BC schools to be a healthy school community. A healthy school community constantly strengthens its capacity as a healthy setting in which students, staff, parents, and community members work collaboratively to build healthy, resilient and socially connected students that learn how to be healthy for life.
A healthy school is a place where students feel welcomed and connected to their broader school community. A healthy school community is a place where students have many opportunities both in the classroom, and in the school community to strengthen their physical, mental, social-emotional, and intellectual development.
The Looking Glass Foundation strives to support individuals struggling with eating disorders and disordered eating. We offer innovative and accessible programs and services that decrease isolation, instill hope, and sustain recovery for individuals on their road to recovery. As a Foundation, we are aware of the harsh realities of eating disorders, the stigma that exists around these mental illnesses, and the work that still needs to be done in addressing treatment access and gaps. All of our work is grounded in hope, compassion, accessibility and accountability. Every day, we hear and share inspiring stories of our friends, loved ones, colleagues, and community members who have recovered and are thriving. Knowing this, we continue the fight against eating disorders, while sharing the message that recovery is possible. We understand the journey and we are here to help.
Our Vision: A province where everyone who suffers from an eating disorder receives the services they need to support their recovery, and where the stigma of this mental illness is replaced with compassion and understanding.
Our Mission: Looking Glass Foundation’s programs and services decrease isolation, instill hope, and sustain recovery for individuals across British Columbia who are impacted by eating disorders.

The Stroke Recovery Association of BC (SRABC), doing business as After Stroke BC, has been providing services, education and advocacy to those affected by stroke, throughout every stage of recovery, since 1979. Our mission is to empower survivors to live fulfilling, independent lives post-stroke. We do this by providing participant-centred, barrier-free (including cost-free) stroke recovery programs in over 30 communities across BC. We provide education, resources and hope to stroke survivors, their families, friends and caregivers. We raise awareness regarding the impact of stroke, stroke recovery resources and benefits available in our province, and share information on the prevention of stroke. We also act as a resource for health care professionals and others concerned with the effect of stroke on individuals and their families.

The VWMS is passionate about supporting young, aspiring B.C. musicians in all classical music disciplines to further their training and education. We award annual scholarships and bursaries and provide each of our award winners the opportunity to develop and perform a program before an appreciative audience.
Scholarships and Bursaries
Operating since 1905 to promote classical music, VWMS began offering scholarships in 1923 and bursaries in 1977. These funds helped many artists as they began their careers including Donald Bell, Jean Coulthard, Barbara Custance, Ben Heppner, Jon Kimura Parker, Jamie Parker, the Chooi brothers (Timothy and Nikki), and Avan Yu.
Our Scholarship competitions are open to musicians between 13 and 30 and operate under three categories - voice, piano and orchestral instruments - with each discipline held every third year. Our yearly bursary competitions are open to students enrolled in a recognized post-secondary music program in any music discipline. Three winners in each competition receive cash awards. All competitions have qualified adjudicators.
Concerts
Our winners plan and perform a one-hour concert program, which is a significant development experience. The young performers have shone and engaged us with wonderful concerts.
