Volunteer Opportunities in Vancouver

Results is a nonprofit advocacy organization of passionate staff and volunteers committed to generating the political will to end extreme poverty in low- and middle-income countries. We focus our work on global health, access to quality education and economic opportunities. What does political will mean? We believe in mobilizing everyday people (our volunteers) to influence the Government of Canada. We direct our energy and efforts at government decision makers like party leaders, Members of Parliament and senators because they have the power to improve policies and make the monetary investments needed to end extreme poverty. We also raise awareness by writing letters to the editor (LTEs) and op-eds, using social media, fundraising and more. Oftentimes the first step is putting these issues on the radar — and keeping the pressure on. It might seem like a small step, but it all adds up into impact. commitment: 1 year minimum, 1-2 hours per week on average support structure: Volunteers (virtually) meet in local groups on a monthly basis and rely on their group leader(s) for guidance. Nous faisons aussi de la sensibilisation en écrivant des lettres ouvertes aux journaux, en utilisant les médias sociaux, en collectant des fonds et bien plus. Souvent, la première étape est d’attirer l’attention sur ces enjeux et de les faire connaître — et de maintenir la pression. The Research Coordinator leads research and content development to support ARIA's educational initiatives. You'll gather relevant information, sources, and supporting materials for workshops, presentations, slide decks, and resources, then create slideshows and resource materials in English/Farsi. Your role is to ensure all content is accurate, relevant, well-organized, and tailored to your audience, while maintaining strong visual quality, flow, and overall presentation structure. The Farsi-Fluent Presenter brings ARIA's mission and programs directly to the Iranian-Canadian community through public speaking and presentations. You'll represent ARIA at community events, workshops, and gatherings, sharing information about our services, resources, and initiatives in Farsi. As a bridge between ARIA and our community, you'll help welcome newcomers, answer questions, and foster connection, ensuring that Farsi-speaking members feel welcomed and informed about the support available to them through ARIA.NOTES: This role requires native Farsi proficiency.
