About BEST Mobility

BEST Mobility, founded in 1991 as Better Environmentally Sound Transportation, is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing healthy and sustainable transportation across British Columbia. Our work is grounded in collaboration, education and advocacy.

Through partnerships with communities, institutions, and local organizations, we deliver practical programs that remove barriers and support people of all ages and abilities to access sustainable transportation choices. About the Role

We're looking for individuals across BC with leadership experience who are passionate about sustainability, public policy, and/or mobility justice, as well as people who bring skills and experience in:

• Fundraising, donor relations & fund development
• Marketing, communications, PR & media
• Non-profit organizations
• Business, industry & community connections

We're also looking for diverse perspectives and lived experiences that can help strengthen our organization and advance our mission.

We especially encourage applications from Indigenous peoples, members of the LGBTQ2S+ community, individuals with disabilities, and people from other equity-deserving groups.

Time Commitment

Board members are expected to attend at least 75% of meetings (held 9-12 times per year). Each Director is also asked to participate meaningfully in at least one Board committee, contribute actively to strategic planning and budgetary planning processes, and serve as a community ambassador for BEST Mobility, promoting the Society's mission, values, and programs in all relevant professional and public settings.

Directors should expect to commit a minimum of three to five hours per month to Board duties, including meeting attendance, pre-meeting preparation, committee participation, and community representation. The actual time commitment may exceed this minimum during periods of intensive governance activity.

The standard term of office for a Director is three years, as specified in the Society's Bylaws.
