Fund Development Strategist
HK House is looking for 1-3 volunteers interested in researching and preparing applications for funding opportunities to support our volunteer-run organisation. You will be working with a team of fellow volunteers, specifically with our funding & sponsorships team.
Time Commitment:
5-10 hours a week
Tasks will include:
– Researching and determining HK House’s eligibility for municipal, provincial, federal and corporate funding opportunities
– Preparing timelines and outlines for funding applications
– Working alongside the HK House team to write and create budgets for funding applications
– Develop persuasive funding applications to communicate HK House’s mission, goals, and impact, while aligning with the funder’s guidelines and requirements
– Becoming familiar with the relevant HK House programming in need of financial support, in order to create strong proposals
– Participating in virtual or in-person team meetings
Interest in any of the following:
– Cantonese and/or Hong Kong culture
– Fundraising and/or grant writing strategies for non-profits/charities
– Non-profit structure and governance
– Asian-Canadian and/or immigrant experiences
– Cultural festivals and events
– Intangible cultural heritage preservation
Requirements:
– Strong English writing skills and/or Cantonese
– Able to work collaboratively with others
– Leadership and research experience
– Able to manage tasks independently
