Opportunity Description:

We are looking for Group Support Volunteers to assist Seniors’ Hub staff to provide meaningful activities for adults living with dementia in a welcoming, relaxed and supportive environment.

What You Will be Doing

• Welcoming and talking to people with mild to moderate Dementia
• Assisting with a variety of fun interactive activities such as arts & crafts, games, social events and outings
• Preparing and distributing refreshments
• Helping with program set-up & clean-up

Qualifications

• Can demonstrate patience, empathy and compassion
• Have good verbal communication and listening skills
• Interest in learning about Dementia and its impact on people
• Successful completion of Criminal Record Check

Time Commitment

A minimum of 2 hours per week.  Program runs Mondays and Wednesdays from 11 am to 3 pm. There are no programs on Stat Holidays.
