The exciting sport of dragonboating was introduced to Vancouver in 1986 as part of Expo ’86. Since then, it has attracted a diverse community of paddlers due to its universal appeal. All genders and all ages, can be seen practicing on the waters of False Creek throughout the year for races from May to September.
Volunteers are needed to assist with the races and the festivals. The Concord Pacific Dragonboat Festival is the largest in North America and celebrates our community, its culture and the spirit of competition. Events begin in May and end in September with a variety of positions available from beverage services, guest services, cultural programming, docks, etc.
