We are currently recruiting for new volunteers for two of our galleries:
Search: Sara Stern Gallery
The Sara Stern Search Gallery is a gallery that inspires discovery, awe and wonder of the natural world. It is a gallery that inspires visitors to become nature ambassadors and nature activists, creating individuals who want to make the world better. This gallery encourages the exploration of the natural world, its animals and habitat in their natural states to about our world today.
Tinkering Space and KEVA Gallery
Tinkering is really a way of thinking—thinking with your hands and learning through doing. When we tinker, we engage in the iterative design process (Question-Imagine-Create-Test and Repeat), often changing the core question as we go. By prototyping rapidly, testing often, and continuing to evolve our goals, we can learn about the properties of materials and mechanisms in a deep way.
The Tinkering Space features our KEVA blocks, as well as some permanent exhibits, but it is primarily a space for programming. Visitors of all ages are invited to participate in challenges at a variety of levels of difficulty, to combine artistic and scientific thinking, and to put their own ideas into practice.
Please access our volunteer site: https://www.scienceworld.ca/volunteer/ for more information and to complete an application.
