Parkinson Society British Columbia Parkinson SuperWalk Volunteer Positions     PARKINSON SOCIETY BRITISH COLUMBIA Parkinson Society British Columbia provides vital support to the Parkinson’s community through educational programs, advocacy, public awareness and community outreach. The Society receives no government funding and relies entirely on the generosity of individual donors, members, corporations, foundations and the dedicated efforts of volunteers.     PARKINSON SUPERWALK Parkinson SuperWalk is the single most important provincial and national awareness and fundraising event for Parkinson Society British Columbia (PSBC). This event raises money for research and support services through individual pledges and corporate sponsorships. This year, our goal is to attract over 2,400 walkers and raise at least $460,000 in BC. Proceeds from SuperWalk will benefit approximately 13,000 individuals and their families who live with Parkinson’s in BC.     Volunteer Positions – Vancouver & Surrey We need SuperWalk volunteers for Vancouver and Surrey, both taking place on Sunday, September 10, 2017. Vancouver’s SuperWalk will be taking place in Ceperley Playground at Stanley Park, and Surrey’s will be in Bear Creek Park.   Volunteers are needed for all positions at both locations.     Event Photographers: 8:45 – 12:00pm   Course Marshall: 8:30am – 11:30am   Registration (Individual & Team): 8:00 – 10:30am   Greeter: 7:45am – 10:45am   Greeter – Registration Control: 7:45am – 10:45am   Parking Attendant: 7:00am – 11:00am   Refreshment Table Attendant: 8:00 – 11:00am   Volunteer Tent Attendant: 7:00am – 11:00am   Food Station Attendant: 8:00am – 11:00am   Popcorn Station Attendant: 9:30am – 12:00pm (Vancouver only)   Photo Tent Attendant: 8:15am – 12:00pm   Form and information Table Attendant: 8:15am – 12:00pm   Raffle Table Attendant/Other Duties: 9:30 – 11:30am     Qualifications Outgoing personality with good interpersonal skills and the ability to commit for the morning.   Benefits & Recognition Volunteers will receive a SuperWalk volunteer t-shirt and participate in a fun event for a great cause. Confirmation letters for volunteer hours worked will also be available upon request.
