Employ to Empower (ETE) is an award-winning charity that empowers low-income individuals with work and/or social barriers through entrepreneurship. We offer a 10-week Business Skills Training program, personalized mentorship, micro-loans and self-advocacy opportunities.

Position Description
Title Description: Entrepreneur In Residence
Reporting To: Mentorship Lead
Location: In-person at the Employ to Empower Office (319 West Pender, Vancouver BC)
Desired Start Date: January 16, 2024
Commitment: Bi weekly on Tuesdays for 2 hours
Position Type: Volunteer
Position Summary
As the Entrepreneur in Residence, you will be responsible but not limited to the following tasks:
*Provide on-going mentoring and management assistance to the growing number of entrepreneurs at ETE
*Provide professional advice from your venture-building knowledge to help our entrepreneurs get practical and real-life insights while navigating challenges about what it takes to start, grow and scale a successful business.
Qualifications
*Reputable and experienced entrepreneur who has built businesse(s) and is passionate about using their personal entrepreneurship journey to provide knowledge, guidance and support to entrepreneurs
*Previous experience leading an early stage business
*Based in Vancouver
*Strong interpersonal skills
*Strong relational empathy, compassion, and patience
*Generalist with strong skills in a key startup discipline (sales, tech, product, design, marketing, etc.)
*Strong writing communication skills
*Experience volunteering/working in the DTES considered an asset
*Successful Criminal Record Check (upon starting volunteer role)
