S.U.C.C.E.S.S. is a multicultural, multi-service agency assisting people at all stages of their Canadian experience. The organization is recognized as one of British Columbia’s largest social service providers. With over 20 locations, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. proudly services local communities in Greater Vancouver, Fort St. John and overseas in China and South Korea.
We are now accepting volunteers for our 2025 Annual Vancouver Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade! Come join over 3000 participants to celebrate the Lunar New Year in the heart of our Chinatown community. As one of our 200 volunteers, you will be part of a dynamic and hardworking team that will play an integral role in making our 2025 Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade a success, all while having a great time, meeting new people, and gaining valuable skills! We are recruiting volunteers for the Parade on February 2nd. Please see below for a preliminary list of the volunteer roles available. Please note you can be assigned any of the roles available.
Role: Parade Support Roles
Number of volunteers needed: 200
Date: February 2nd (Sunday)
Location: Volunteers will first gather at Choi Hall, 28 West Pender St, Vancouver (SUCCESS Head Office)
Shift times: 8:00am-4:00pm (some roles will be shorter)
Volunteer Online Orientation: TBA
Dress Code: Please dress warmly with NO open-toed shoes (preferably sneakers) on the event day (check weather forecast). Prepare for winter conditions such as rain, snow, etc.
Shift times will be announced shortly. You will be assigned to one or more of the following volunteer roles depending on your availability and the needs of the parade team:
- Set-up
- Volunteer Registration and Central Dispatch
- Zone Watching and Pace-keeping
- Firecracker truck
- VIP Reception and Booth
- Clean up/take down
*Most of the roles will require long periods of standing, please take that into consideration before signing up.
