Opportunity Description:

The Board of Directors is the legal authority for the Society. Board Members will support the organization, its vision and its work by lending their expertise to: Advocate for Childcare in BC Raise public awareness of DCECEC programs and services provided to families and Community networks. Assess the organization’s direction, strategic plan, program policies and its financials. Offer guidance, support and direction to the General Manager. The DCECEC Society Board is looking for people who have: • A strong Employment Law, Human Resource, Financial/Accounting, Business or Early Childhood Education background. • Experience in the not-for profit sector or have an interest in learning more. • A passion and understanding of the importance of childcare • An interest in working with a team towards a shared goal and vision. • Time and commitment to serve a 2 year term and attend regularly scheduled Board of Directors Meetings (Meetings alternate between the 2 campuses). Our Mission: DCECEC Society operates Early Childhood Education Facilities which promote quality of life and embrace the wide variety of individual needs in children, as well as offer the community it serves such facilities for observing and training as may be acceptable to the community and the Society. Provide governance and direction to the society overall.
