Earthdance Vancouver (earthdance.ca) is one of over a hundred Earthdance gatherings around the world. Collectively, Earthdance International/Global (http://www.earthdance.org/) is the largest synchronized festival for world peace in history! Earthdance stands for Peace and our event promotes peace, sustainability, and social responsibility in our local and global community.

On Saturday September 23rd people from around the world will come together to dance, learn, heal, share, and create, as one united global community, with a common vision for peace and humanitarian aims. Every Earthdance event across the world recites a Prayer for Peace at the same time. The Prayer for Peace is a profound moment that unites our intentions for world peace.

Earthdance Vancouver is looking for 6 to 10 volunteers to help our group make our event green. The Event will be taking place at New Brighton Park (3333 New Brighton Rd, Vancouver) in northeast Vancouver. Volunteers are being sought to help with the following activities for two hour shifts on the day of the event (before, during, and after; timing of green team activities are from 10am to 8pm): set up waste management materials; encourage sustainable waste management among event participants (e.g., direct them to waste management facilities, assist in sorting waste, education about waste reduction, thanking attendees for being green); ensure stations are clean and bags are removed and replaced as needed; sort/clean waste into streams at storage/management area; pick up garbage on site and place in proper bins as needed; and report results of green activities (e.g., what worked, didn’t work, ways to improve, future needs, etc.).
