Asian-Canadian Special Events Association is a non-profit organization that creates sustainable projects in the areas of arts and culture, and works with partners across British Columbia, Canada, and internationally. ACSEA is guided by our mandate for Community Engagement, Fostering New Artistic and Cultural Expressions, and creating a Platform to Learn and Share.

ACSEA has a long history of curating and producing large events, including a very successful partnership with Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics Cultural Olympiad. Our signature events are spread throughout the year: LunarFest near the end of winter, TAIWANfest and IPACI in the summer, and “We Are Canadians, Too!” event in partnership with Canadian Heritage and Canada 150.

Event Overview:

Since its beginnings in 1990, TAIWANfest has grown to become the largest English/Mandarin bilingual cultural festival in all of Canada. The annual summer event takes place in downtown Toronto and Vancouver, attracting over 350,000 visitors.  

Continuing the Dialogues with Asia series, this year we celebrate a “Fête with the Philippines” – uncover the hidden and silent connections that bind us together, across oceans, mountains, and plains!

TAIWANfest 2018 – Toronto will take place at Harbourfront Centre, Toronto on Aug 24th, 25th, and 26th.

Volunteers Overview:

We’re looking for volunteers to help in a variety of roles including: setup and takedown, greeters and ushers, stage manager, assistants, exhibition attendants and photographers.
