We are currently looking for Volunteer Drivers to drive our 15 passenger bus (Doris Too) on a casual basis to transport and escort seniors to and from Seniors’ Hub programs and events.
What You Will be Doing
Providing safe, reliable transportation to local seniors for day trips, programs and events.
Picking up seniors at pre-arranged destination, driving to various venues and dropping them off at original destination in a timely manner according to schedule
Safely escorting seniors on and off the bus
Help with loading and unloading of walkers, groceries and shopping bags
Completing trip mileage logs, specific pre-trip and post-trip safety inspection of the bus
Qualifications
Have patience, empathy and enjoy meeting with seniors
Can assist seniors with impaired mobility, vision and hearing
Have good observation and communication skills
Have strong time management skills
Hold a valid Class 4 BC Driver’s license
Can provide a clear driver’s abstract
Have knowledge of the North Shore and Lower Mainland
Successful completion of Criminal Record Check
Time Commitment
10 – 20 hours per month. Hours vary according to program needs.
