The Young Readers' Choice Awards Society of British Columbia is the non-profit organization that administers the Red Cedar Book Award. The purpose of the Award is to create a rich reading experience for children in grades 4-7, families, and educators while supporting and promoting the Canadian publishing industry.  Our mission is that we are: A learning commons for kids, families, and educators across British Columbia to discover, connect, and be inspired by Canadian literature written for kids. An our vision is: An engaged, excited, and educated province-wide Red Cedar Book Awards community  

Haro Park Centre is a campus of care community in the heart of downtown Vancouver which provides independent housing, assisted living and residential care, allowing elders the opportunity to age in place.

Established more than a century ago to fight tuberculosis, the BC Lung Foundation was among the first to address the dangers of smoking, and to make the connection between air pollution and health. Today, thanks to the generosity of our donors, we continue the fight for lung health and air quality. We help fund vital research to advance 21st century medicine and other lung health initiatives, support lung patients and their caregivers, and educate British Columbians on how to safeguard their lung health. We also advocate for policies that protect air quality, which affects children and youth, adults and seniors. Together, they comprise the 1 in 5 British Columbians affected by a lung condition – asthma, COPD, pulmonary fibrosis and lung cancer, among other diseases – and always, we offer Hope, Help and a Voice.

We need the ocean. The ocean needs us. Ocean Wise builds communities that take meaningful action to protect and restore our ocean. Together – with business leaders, researchers, community members, governments and ocean lovers around the world – we are monitoring and protecting whales, fighting climate change and restoring biodiversity, protecting and restoring fish stocks, innovating for a plastic free ocean, educating and empowering youth. We will need millions of people, those on the coast as well as those landlocked individuals, to join us for our ocean. Our ability to thrive on this planet depends on it.

The Crisis Centre of BC is dedicated to providing help and hope to individuals, organizations, and communities. We are proud to care for residents living in the communities of Richmond, Vancouver, North Shore, Sea-to-Sky Corridor, Sunshine Coast, Powell River, Bella Bella and Bella Coola located within the traditional territories of the Heiltsuk, Kitasoo-Xai’xais, Lil’wat, Musqueam, N’Quatqua, Nuxalk, Samahquam, shíshálh, Skatin, Squamish, Tla’amin, Tsleil-Waututh, Wuikinuxv, and Xa’xtsa. We have been in operation since 1969. Spanning the spectrum of crisis support, suicide prevention, and postvention, we engage staff and volunteers in a variety of services and programs that educate, train, and support the strength and capacity of individuals and communities. We offer: Immediate access to barrier-free, non-judgemental, confidential support and follow-up through 24/7 phone lines and online services. Education and training programs that promote mental wellness and equip schools, organizations and communities to assist people at risk of suicide. Our programs work to ensure timely access to support, destigmatize suicide and mental health concerns, and increase awareness and skills for mental health. We engage a community of passionate volunteers. We foster and create compassionate, connected, suicide-safer communities.

Beehouse Foundation is a non-profit company dedicated to empowering individuals to share their unique stories and providing them with the necessary tools and support to become professional creators. We firmly believe that everyone possesses a voice worth hearing, and we strive to create opportunities for individuals to share their stories, which have the power to inspire, educate, and entertain others. At Beehouse, we recognize the importance of storytelling and its potential to create positive social impact. Our mission is to foster an inclusive and supportive environment where individuals from all backgrounds can express themselves creatively and gain the skills needed to pursue professional careers as creators. We accomplish our mission through a range of initiatives, including the development of innovative AI tools and hosting workshops and creator-thons. Our tools are designed to be user-friendly, accessible, and tailored to the diverse needs of creators. Through these tools, individuals can explore different mediums such as writing, photography, videography, podcasting, and more, allowing them to express themselves in ways that resonate with their unique talents and interests. In addition to providing tools, we host workshops and creator-thons that offer valuable learning experiences and hands-on guidance. These events bring together aspiring creators, industry professionals, and mentors to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and foster collaboration. Participants have the opportunity to enhance their skills, receive feedback on their work, and gain insights into the creative industry. Swim Drink Fish works at the confluence of water, people, and storytelling, using community science, technology, and communications to connect people to water. Through a network of Community Water Monitoring Hubs, Swim Drink Fish has inspired, and continues to inspire, people to know and safeguard their local waters. Swim Drink Fish initiatives are active in 171 communities in 11 countries. As a volunteer-led group, the Swim Drink Fish vision of creating swimmable, drinkable, fishable water for everyone started with people. It’s this vision that has connected people to the water’s edge and given communities access to their local waters. Our vision has come to fruition, and continues to grow, thanks to the power of community-based action. We use the tools of a diverse group of passionate water lovers with the same goal in mind: swimmable, drinkable, fishable water for everyone. Our vision has never wavered, and that’s why the past is powering our present and the future, as we continue to look forward with people powering us there.

Give Back Market is a social purchasing platform for smallholder organic spice farmers. The platform has launched a Combat Hunger Challenge on the World Food Programme's Share the Meal app to bring much needed food and supplies to families and children around the world.

Point Grey Village is one of the 22 Business Improvement Areas (BIAs) in Vancouver. It is managed by the Point Grey Village Business Association, a non-profit organization that each business and property owner on West 10th Avenue between Discovery and Tolmie Streets is a member of. Our BIA has a two fold mandate: 1) To improve, beautify and maintain public lands & buildings within the BIA, beyond what is provided by the municipality at large. 2) To promote the areas as a business and shopping area – including eateries, shops and services – beyond what businesses can do individually. BIA benefit local economies through various initiatives.
