quaranTEEN Learning is a free online tutor/mentorship service available to all B.C. students currently in grades 4 - 7. Our team is completely made up of youth volunteers who are passionate towards providing students in B.C. a source of learning and mentorship during the school closures.
Our mission is to help provide another source of learning for students, as well as a connection in the community to help foster solidarity during these uncertain times. We hope to achieve this by setting up free online tutoring and mentorship sessions to provide a space where students can talk to other youths. During this period of self-isolation, we believe that collaboration and communication are essential to help boost morale, as well as to help spread knowledge and ideas.
Chinese Gold Ribbon Society of Canada is the first society in Canada that supports Chinese families of children in critical sick condition. We provide emotional support and financial support for the children and parents.

Students for Herd Immunity works to disseminate accurate, age-appropriate, and culturally-relevant information about COVID-19 vaccines as a pivotal step to ending the COVID-19 pandemic. We have a strong focus on engaging students and collaborating with local academic, political, religious, and cultural leaders in order to sustainably mobilize communities at the grassroots level.
The Regional Animal Protection Society – RAPS – is an independent, non-profit organization serving animals and their people. We are, very proudly, a no-kill animal care agency. We independently operate one of North America’s largest cat sanctuaries, the RAPS Cat Sanctuary - a loving forever home to 400 cats. In addition, our RAPS Adoption Centre receives cats and kittens as owner-surrenders, from other rescue agencies & shelters and feral cats who have been trapped. These cats and kittens are available for adoption. The not-for-profit RAPS Animal Hospital opened in February 2018. The RAPS Animal Hospital is a full-service, community-supported veterinary hospital, owned and operated by the Regional Animal Protection Society. In addition, RAPS operates two RAPS Thrift Stores in Richmond as well as one in New Westminster. All revenue from the thrift stores is reinvested to help save and improve the lives of animals and their people in our community.
We are proud to have served the animals and people of this city and region for over two decades. We could not do what we do if not for the generous contribution of time, skill and caring of our extraordinary volunteers.
Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site is currently recruiting for Heritage Ambassador volunteers! As a Heritage Ambassador, share the stories of the people who lived and worked at Britannia. You will be dressed in period costume while demonstrating activities that would've taken place at Britannia during its heyday. You will help with animating and activating the site with activities such as playing cards, maritime know tying, unique boat building techniques, embroidery, vintage lawn games, sewing and more! No experience required with training and costumes provided. Volunteers will not be acting/in character. Volunteers must be 15+ years, have excellent communication skills and be willing to learn and share their knowledge and enthusiasm with the public.
Shift times are: Fall/Winter/Spring 11:45am-4:15pm, Tue-Sun
Summer (May 20-Sep 5) 10:45am-4:15pm, 7 days a week
Gaia Community Care and Wellness Society (Gaia Cares) is a charitable organization incorporated in British Columbia in 2018 that aims to support the health and wellness of Chinese and other older adults and their families. Through its programs and services, Gaia Cares provides seniors and those caring for them with the knowledge, skills, and nurturing support they need to ease the stresses of aging. Gaia Cares received its status as a registered charity through Canada Revenue Agency , effective from April 1, 2019
We promote the health and wellbeing of Chinese and other ethnic seniors and their caregivers. Our culturally and linguistically appropriate services include information sharing, education, training, counselling, and physical and emotional support.
We provide seniors with essential support services that enable them to age comfortably and independently at home and defer the need for admissions to long-term care facilities.
A popular community festival is returning to Richmond this summer. On August 14th, from 10am-3pm, the Sharing Farm is hosting the 12th Annual Richmond Garlic Fest in the award-winning Terra Nova Rural Park!
Highlights for festival-goers include live birds-of-prey flying demonstrations, a celebrated children's area, an expanded farmers market, food trucks with garlic-enhanced dishes, and live entertainment.
Admission to the festival is by donation and is suitable for all ages. Limited parking is available. A bike valet service will be available in a securely guarded area near the festival entrance, so consider cycling or taking transit to this event. All proceeds from the festival go to supporting the Sharing Farm in its mission to provide fresh, healthy, sustainably grown produce to community members facing food insecurity.
ECSSEN Career School (hereafter ECSSEN) is a Canadian charity (Charity # 859245102RR0001) registered in Alberta. It was established in 2004 and has been run by a group of passionate and dedicated volunteers ever since. It focuses on:
- helping immigrants and youth gain Canadian work experiences and skills through workplace practicum and in house programs;
- creating opportunities for them to adjust and contribute to Canadian Society through volunteering; and
- partnering with local social service agencies/businesses in supporting people in need through charitable initiatives.
James Thompson Elementary School has approximately 250 students. Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is a committee made up of parents, who are committed to the education and well being of the children in our school. We work closely with the administration and staff to provide education enrichment opportunities for our students. Some of the duties of Thompson PAC is to fundraise and manage school projects that is not fully-funded by the Ministry of Education or the school district.
Our community farm grows food for the Richmond Food Bank and Musqueam Free Market on 4.5 acres in Richmond, BC with dedicated volunteer support. We grow food. We grow farmers. We grow community.

The Prince George Regional Kerala Cultural Association (PGRKCA) is a community organization based in Prince George, BC, dedicated to promoting and preserving the cultural heritage of Kerala, India. The association organizes various cultural events, social gatherings, and festivals to celebrate Malayali traditions and connect the local Malayali community. Through these activities, PGRKCA aims to foster a sense of unity and cultural pride among its members.
